| Manchmal - In Memoriam Dieter Moebius |

Six months ago Dieter Moebius passed away. He was one of the German pioneers of electronic music in the early seventies. Together with Hans Joachim Roedelius he made the prettiest electronic albums under their Cluster moniker.
Manchmal is from their album Grosses Wasser from 1979. We recorded the song with ukuleles, glockenspiel, vibraphone and bass and we made a little animation to go with it.

Check out German music from the early seventies. It's a goldmine!

Recorded with Season of the Ukulele #205 in mind. ("Songs celebrating the lives of the rockers we've lost")

Lovely music. And seriously ... stop-motion animation?!!! You are insane, in a really, really, really good way. I can't believe you did that. The animation is gorgeous too. Must have taken you ages to do! Especially the last scene. I love how the hand got in there a few times.

Brilliant animation! I like the tune, and the performance is spectacular! Thanks for introducing me to Dieter Möbius.

Beautiful music, and 10/10 for the animation. I listened to some Cluster after reading Dieter's obituaries, and was impressed. Now I will go back and listen to some more.

Delightful animation and melody. You are so right about 70s German pop. I was a big fan of Amon Duul II - especially their "Wolf City" album with the incredibly powerful "Deutsch Nepal"
