Great video new subscriber here. So what happened with the coolant on the side of the motor? Asking because I'm thinking about Aprilia for my next bike

Hey Bill not fully done yet on the video but I just wanted to let you know I'm one of the guys who's talked to you about the restriction in power.
I too don't have full details so, take my words with a grain of salt.
The bike does not require him to remap or anything like that, the bike kind of already has 3 maps of power in memory, they all do because it's easier to manufacture at scale: one is 48bhp (A2 restricted licence as well as LAMS in UK and Aussieland I believe) then those bikes per law cannot go when unrestricted above 95hp to be homologated. And then, the normal full power 100hp map.
What the bike will do is simply wait for that reset of the wrench thing to change from the A2 unrestricted 95hp map to the normal 100hp.
No other involvement on it.

So, I didn't get it fully clear in the video though:
Have you also experienced the power gain? or know of others that aren't me? Because the few people who have denied this is a thing to me seemed very sure about it, while not working for Aprilia mostly just having asked.

As you might expect by now... I have my own theory of what happened with the velocity stacks and is related to all of this topic of power restricted before service, but then... I think he mentioned he hasn't had his done. So conflictive information.
Now... the ECU on this bike is extremely smart and new. And Aprilia is not a stranger to racing, and so probably expected some people to not go by the book of service and who knows really the chances of it realizing it's being used as a track bike and suddenly go into full power mode without any further input. The chances are decent enough to not rule it out immediately.
Then I have to admit I'm a bit of a conspirationist lover so, again, always a grain of salt hehe

Thanks in advance! Cheers.

You’re right about this bike for Moto America kosher, now this gets me thinking 🤔, great video quality as always!

I prefer to do simple maintenance myself. Don't trust dealer much. I have mechanics forgot to reinstall some bolts, good thing I checked, else I could die if the thing fell off while I am riding.

The velocity stacks from carbonsmith are bit snake oil to me. The dude had small gains mostly at the VERY top of the rev range. Gabro has dozens of different velocity stacks he is only just now testing because he has an ecu flash now (public release coming soon). It's very difficult to justify air or fuel mods from a vendor who just slapped them on without the ability to tune AFR and actually test them properly.

Recall on valve shims for RS660. I have to take mine in tomorrow.

Great video as always, appreciate the time & effort you put in to your channel! Will always do what I can to support, smash that

The small gain in horsepower is probably the different oil. Breaking oil tends to have a little bit more to it so it's a little more restrictive not to mention you got all these metal flakes floating around in your filter. Clean out the crud and put in some good oil that flows better and you have less restriction you're going to pick up that horsepower. It usually isn't much but four horsepower on a motorcycle I feel like you would probably feel that. My KTM 390 Adventure had the same 600 MI shift light and it automatically changed over as programmed by the ECU. Most of that power that you see is just the ECU basically unlocking itself and you being able to go higher in the reverse without the big old flashy light at you lol. That's just my opinion for my experience.

So many bugs on that jacket haha. The RS 660 is just wow man, good information on this video man, let people know what to expect. Oh that effect is real, hell after I clean my bikes or cars they seem faster, and after an oil change it's like they're just super happy for taking care of them haha.

After watching the video again I like how the Mr tech dude puts his own foot in his mouth and tries to save it. He says yes and no and first says no because he just has to go in and make sure there isn't anything else to insinuate there's no trouble code or something but that turns around and says yes like he's unlocking something but he's not I don't think because I talked to another dealership and Aprilia directly and the customer care person I talk to said they haven't heard about anything like that. If it's anything like the KTM it is simply a pre-programmed shift light and maybe some timing adjustment and some fuel adjustment that is automatically unlocked after 600 miles but we shall see on my Tuareg

Any issues with going in for service if I have my ECU flashed via upmap already? Should I flash it back to stock first?

You mentioned exhaust a few time but can't see it in the playlist. What are you going for?
Always had a love for Aprilias ever since my Aprilia AF1 Replica in the 80's ('88)

I love when the service tech tries to explain an overpriced oil change disguised as a 600 service 😂😂😂

My nearest Aprilia dealer is 3 hours away. Do I really need to bring it in for the 600 mile oil change and torque check just to get the service light reset?

I’m really trying to convince myself to get one of these. Unfortunately the eurocycle service dept in my area is completely incompetent.

Mine went from 10, 500 rpm shift light to 11, 300 right after I hit 600 miles, on it's own.
Biggest difference by seat of the pants was when I changed the mode settings.
I thought " Dynamic " would be the strongest mode, like my BMW F 900 r, but turns out " Individual " gives you the least restrictive options.

My traction was set at 5 bars, I lowered to 1.
Wheelie control was at 3 bars, I turned it off entirely.
It only does a slight lift of the front end at high rpm in 1st gear, anyway.
Looking forward to ECU flash and exhaust when available.
