A Better Way to Roast Cauliflower, along with Basbaas (Somali chile sauce)

I was recently looking at a 6 year old copy of Milk Street Magazine, when this recipe caught my eye. It was a variation on roasted cauliflower that involves first blanching the head of cauliflower. Would it make a difference?

Thank you for listing the cauliflower by weight. "Small, medium and large" designations are so subjective. Using the weight as you did is much more helpful.

Thanks for the introduction to basbaas. It's fantastic. I used it on grilled ground lamb patties, steamed cauliflower and chopped up cucumber. It's also really tasty just by the spoonful!

Is it just me, or is the Cauliflower massive this year?
Gotta admire the way that head popped right into your Corningware! (Maybe that's just me, again?😂)
I love Cauliflower.
I can get behind trying this roasting method.

Great recipe. I either roast or steam my cauliflower. Will try the combo method. Sounds like a much tastier way to prepare cauliflower. For sure going to try that basbaas sause. You had me at cilantro on that one. 😃

Love that your incorporating recipes from other countries. I love to do that to expand my keto options. Btw the turkish eggs also look good.

Oh my! That casserole dish is a blast from my past. I sold my Corningware 'Spice Of Life' set when we moved from the city to the farm

Sounds delicious, Steve. I bought cilantro yesterday so I'll be making these as soon as I pick up cauliflower.

I highly recommend this channel.
I've been doing keto-carnivore for over 6 years. My original goal was 150 pounds and lower by BP. I reached the first keto goals in the first 3 months on very strict 25 carb keto diet.
I added the Carnivore after 6 months.
Ive been Keto-Carnivore ever since.
- This morning (I do an official weigh in the first of every month).
I weigh 145. Perfect for me a 5'6" short guy.
By-the meat?

Thank you! I am going to try this method with that sauce. One thing that I love about your recipes is that you cook in your real and charming kitchen. Some youtubers cook in studio kitchens and they look so cold

That looks amazing great cooking tip! Never heard of bas baas. Looks like a delicious raw sauce. The enzymes in the veg and probiotics in the yogurt are perfectly preserved. Great recipe, thanks for sharing👍🏽

I'll be trying this one! I really love Serrano chilies. (My favorite salsa uses Serrano. I grow it every summer.)

I first saw that measuring cup on “ Good Eats” and had to get one. Really helps with soft ingredients like yogurt.
Thanks for recipe.
