Hillsborough County deputies responded early Tuesday morning to rescue a 4-year-old boy with autism from a nearby pond, according to the sheriff’s office.
How did they know he was in the marsh? It was a miracle they found this boy alive.

This little boy being found alive is what miracles look like. These officers were so kind & patient with him. It was like they knew he needed that extra bit of care.

As a mother of an autistic son, thank God for these officers and them finding this little boy

This hits close to home. A year ago our community lost an autistic girl in a similar manner. My wife and I were a part of the search efforts. The girl didn't make it, my wife was devastated.

On behalf of all mothers, thank you officers! 🙏🏼💙💙💙

One thing that most folks may be overlooking is the bravery they demonstrated walking through that tall grass and wading in that water. There are lots of snakes, spiders and alligators that they could have easily encountered on their way to the boy

It is a miracle this little boy is alive with all the gators down there in Florida, you could tell the office had fear in him, but he is a hero for saving the little baby ❤

I have a daughter with severe autism and she’s 5 and they will run off in a heart beat. Sometimes they wait for you not to look and then they take off. So I feel for the parents. Autistic kids are not slow they are actually extremely smart. They just function differently therefore they need to be watched at all times. Unless you have tons of help. You’re always on guard

Poor little child, so scary. Needs a big hug, a dry towel and blanket and lotsa love and comforting. Forever ❤️

As someone who's had autism for 30 years, i know how this feels, i know how the parents felt and went through.I used to wander off too sometimes as a kid..Please care for your children especially if they're disabled.

Now that, was a miracle! I wonder how he managed to get there by himself? The officers had such a hard time in the reeds and swampy water themselves. Great work!

Heroes right there. This was a truly gripping rescue with all that could have easily gone wrong. Instead, a perfectly executed rescue and handoff in the calmest manner for the boys sake. Amazing job officers!

Folks refuse to see that side of police. Everyone focuses on the negative. Great job, I always appreicate you. I'm sure the boy and the parents do to.
