The Top 25 Greatest Guitar Solos of all Time. (Guitar World Magazine). Covers KDA

A supercut of the top 25 greatest guitar solos of all time according to Guitar World magazine. Having recently completed learning and playing the entire list of 100, I figured that I would make a video concentrating on the top 25 from the list.

Hope you like it!

Edit: after just sitting down and watching my own video, something is bothering me and I have to clear it up.

I've since bought a new DSLR camera for recording and am in the process of learning how to use it. the vast majority of these were recording on an old HTC smartphone at 24FPS. my video editor of choice defaulted to an output of 60FPS. That was a problem. when hand motion, (or any motion really) got too fast, my videos got choppy and sometimes blurry, because of the conversion from 24fps to 60fps.

a problem that I have recently rectified and it's no longer an issue.

apologies for that. it's only taken me two years to figure out how to record guitar. Christ!

it's one of the hardest and fastest solos that I've ever played. no motion blur.

it took a comment on Reddit just a few weeks ago telling me to start recording at 60 fps to get rid of the blur. I honestly had no idea. I just set up the camera in front of me, press record and play my guitar. didn't know one thing about FPS, ISO settings, and the like.

it's something that's always bothered me and I didn't know how to fix it because I'm old and dumb to such things. especially when I get the odd (but rare) comment that I'm speeding up my videos. Nothing irritates me more. To be absolutely clear....I do no such thing. I just really suck at video recording and editing.

but hopefully no more. New camera, new laptop, new video editing software, all in the past three weeks. learning how to properly use it all going forward. if there's one thing with regards to my channel that I am extremely dissatisfied with, it's my video making and editing skills. they're not very good. I'm working on getting better.

Cheers, Kelly

I am in awe. The skill and commitment to be able to nail each one of those very different (and very difficult!) solos is amazing.

You're a legend, dude.

Amazing that you nailed all of these solos in these diverse styles! One can quibble with the Guitar World’s list, but not with the playing.

This is incredible. I only learned of your project a couple of days ago, when you had finished it. For the solos I'm familiar with, you absolutely nailed them. Not just note-for-note, but the feels too. Really good resource for guitarists, with the simple framing of fretboard and picking. I've only watched a few of the individual videos, but it's great to hear your in depth thoughts on each one. Great job!

i don't know anybody that could do what you accomplished. there are plenty of great guitarists in the world, but taking on a list like this and nailing it, with all the diverse styles is just something i'm doubtful even the greatest players could pull off. i don't suspect trickery at all...just hard work. skill, a great ear for music, and an incredible memory. way to go!

Also, it amazes me how the 50+ year old classic solos from Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Gilmour, Beck, Blackmore, Duane Allman and even Chuck Berry just continue to astound with their melody, phrasing, taste, balls, emotion and ingenuity. Then you’d have to add in Iommi, Mick Taylor, Billy Gibbons, Montrose, Terri Kath, Skunk Baxter, Michael Schenker, Joe Perry, Skynyrd dudes, Frampton and on and on before you even get to the VH era.

I kept trying to cut away from the video several times - just one more I kept saying - but just had to watch all 25. Totally awesome achievement (including the 75 leading up to the top 25)!

Just found your channel, such a great achievement. You're a fantastic guitarist and an inspiration. I recently had my longest break from guitar 6 years ago, and recently have been struggling to get back into it, off and on since 2020. You've inspired me to keep playing. Thank you!

Met you the other night at your day/night job. This channel is fantastic. Wasn’t expecting to see Marty Friedman solos absolutely nailed. Well done!

Just learned of your project a few weeks ago. Excellent work, inspirational and so well done. You could literally step into the shoes of any of these legends and pull it off note for note.
