A lot of people may not realize this, probably due to not paying attention. But what was really so great about Bird’s shooting and what makes him the greatest pure shooter ever to play the game. When he takes an uncontested jump shot or even when being guarded tight most times, it was very rare, very rare that the ball hit anything other then the bottom of the net.

I was at ISU when Larry Bird played in 1979. Larry graduated graduated that year and I graduated in 1980. One of the best times in my life. I would see him once in while but not often. Mostly he would be horsing around with his buddies.

I am sure I have seen most of these, real time, on TV. I had a satellite dish. Some I remember, some I don't. There are some on this video, that haven't been shown much, if any. This is a great, well presented video. Bird is my favorite player to watch play basketball. He was more fun to watch than The Globetrotters, but was deadly serious about winning.
