Check the number on the box. If it says 2405A-2408A, it has the non-backlit remote without the live tv button. If it says 2409A or higher, it has the backlit remote with live tv button. I was able to pick up one that had 2410A at my local Walmart. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a way to tell what you’re getting if you order on line.

No, just return it for a replacement if you want to backlight remote. Wal-Mart’s return policy is overly generous.

I got the backlit remote, so I get to look forward to shorter battery life and a huge button labeled FREE TV which I will never ever press... kinda wish I had gotten the remote you got.

If you buy an ONN streaming box now and you get the non backlit remote then is walmart going to ship you the upgraded backlit remote when it comes available without any additional fees

I got the non-backlit remote and I'm fine with it. I'm just happy I was finally able to get a hold of the damn box.

The ONN 4K PRO is the main reason for making the purchase. A minor difference shouldn't be that big of a deal! I would not say that "Did Walmart screw you over."

I was actually relieved to see that I didn't get the big blue button that I wouldn't have used. I dropped Fire Stick because the VRP remote was too awkward. Backlighting is nice, but I don't see it as THAT big of a deal.

I did, but contacted customer service and got a promo code for $10 of $15. It’s worth a try.

Yeah bummer, bought one yesterday, no backlight! Not the end of the world though. I just hope this doesn't have remote disconnection defect their old device had.

The only problem I found with this box is that the Xfinity stream app is not compatible. I remember you had one in the past will you be doing a review about that for this?

You need to look for the manufacturer date of 2409A or later under the serial number bar code. These are the units that start shipping with the new backlite remote!
