In a career spanning 15 years, Whitey Morgan has released five studio albums and a live recording from his hometown of Flint, Michigan. Additionally, he has toured relentlessly averaging over 125 shows annually. Rolling Stone has described him as a "Waylon Jennings acolyte...modern day outlaw [with a] hard-hitting blue-collar brand of music" while NPR Music hailed, "Staying close to the sound and subject matter of classic outlaw artists like Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and David Allan Coe, Morgan is poised to lead this hand-worn brand of country to the next generation."

Woke up this morning, work has been slow, I’m self employed (17 years now) with piling debt and just typed “what am I supposed to do” on my phone and this great song pops up. Good tune.

Probably the best live concert I've ever seen, Whitey came on stage at 9pm and played till past midnight on a Tuesday night. This is real country music done by a band that loves doing it. Pedal steel right up front.

I was a kid when Chrysler shut down the plant in my small Indiana town. This song definitely makes me remember the suffering inflicted on thousands of my neighbors.

I love Whitey Morgan, close your eyes and you’d think this was Bob Seger. What a great tune and an ode to everything Michigan.

As someone who was born and raised in Flint Michigan, and everything my family did was dependent upon General Motors, this song really hit close to home.

Such a grest tune, and the lyrics are incredibly relevant in these uncertain times.

This song is beautifully written and
perfectly executed. As an 3rd generation auto worker I can say that it really hits home.

I know its dedicated to the Auto Workers.. But I think it touches a lot of us Industrial Workers.. I work for a large steel company that in the 80’s uses to employee over 22, 000 Union Workers.. Today we are now down to less than 600 Union Workers.. This town has turned to shit due to poverty and failing business.. We are working on an extended USW Contract and seems just DAYS away from the largest Strike since the 80’s…. If we do, there’s nothing left here.. “What am I supposed to do lord?”

I’m from Michigan but got lucky I guess, moved to Chicago and worked for Big Pharma for 23 years before they laid me off, and I know, God ever since Dire Straits came out with Telegraph Rd in 1982 (?) I know, I know!! there’s still thousands of people saying EXACTLY what this amazingly talented guy just did in this song. You ripped my heart out Whitey Morgan, and Mark Knopfler did too all those years ago, and all I can hope with ALL my heart is that live or die, no matter WHAT, let’s not let ANYONE talk us into hating each other because that’s the end. It’s the guys that make 100, 000 TIMES what I made per hour now, instead of 200 back when things were reasonable, they’re the ones that need us to be enemies. So we won’t look at them in their houses surrounded by moats or their homes on islands protected from US. Ken Griffen, Dick Euihlein, Betsy DeVos, look them up. Please, and say hey to your neighbor. ok folks off my rant. ❤️☮️

A good song, about real life. Reminds me of textiles in our little town. Shut down, gone overseas. People worked their whole lives there, just to be layed off, me included.
