Even the healthiest food from mcdonalds can be considered ultra processed, non- natural trash. Overall body health increases when you eat the food that is truly healthy, which your body does process the best and helpfull to strengthen you. You dont have to stick to the typical health advice catalogue to find out what is best for you (of course you shouldnt ignore it) but via trial and error you can find out for youreself. Also it does raise life quality to cook youreself, even better, to produce the ingredients youreself. You are more aware of what you eat, you can make sure that its just in there what you want to be in there and its quite relaxing.

Get something low calorie, high protein. Make sure it’s meaty or if your vegetarian make sure it has lots of fiber . This will will you up, as you burn 800 calories in sleep, if you only eat 1, 500 per day you only need to hit 500-600 burned as the other 100 or so will be made up by walking, moving etc . Congrats ! You are now in a caloric deficit

I like that concept. Too many people start "diets" that make them socially intolerable or develop an eating disorder. What you call common sense diet combined with intense (progressive) training seems like a recipe for success in that area.

u don’t need to give up fastfood… just supplement protein and essential nutrients, eat in deficit and you’ll still be lean… u might be hungry all the time tho bc u can only eat like 2 times a day if u wanna be in a deficit with junk food rather then eat all day with healthy food just bc junk food is way more calorie dense

If I plan on eating fast food one day, I make that my only meal. I might eat a protein bar or an apple, but anything more than that just goes into a calorie surplus.

I typically order from the a la carte menu at mcdonalds and get 5 or so quarter pounder patties. Things are pretty much pure protein and cooked in their own fat. I cover them in a light drizzle of A1 sauce and chow those things down like steak :P
