Aqiqah in Islam

In an Aqiqah, one animal is sacrificed for a girl and two for a boy, following the Prophet's example. This symbolizes men's greater responsibilities in life, not superiority. The prayer for both is the same, emphasizing equality, and the meat is shared as charity.
