Such clever symbolism used here. From Riley feeling the sun shine on her, it meant that whenever in times of doubt and stress, there will always be a shining hope to help overcome it. In this case, her friends, her family, her emotions, and most importantly, believing in herself. When Riley finally knew that, instead of her emotions choosing to take over Riley, Riley actually chose to be happy, she was now controlling her own emotions and chose Joy to help her begin that shining hope. Working at a smooth, steady pace while at the same time, to keep moving forward, knowing she is never alone.

It's Riley getting back to her roots and remembering why she loves hockey in the first place. No worries. It's just her finally enjoying herself for once. This is what real happiness looks like.

Love how during Anxiety’s control, the game seems so competitive and tense. Whereas in reality, it’s just fun and games, everyone is giggling and laughing enjoying the hockey game. So Anxiety put all the pressure to Riley to score three goals

They went so hard with the themes of emotional maturity and the sense of self constantly changing.

I love how the belief system is basicly like auto pilot, but an auto pilot that have been grown and matured over time, like an algorithm based on her experiences.

This scene is pretty much Riley learning to enjoy hockey for the first time in a while. During the last 2 days, Anxiety made Riley believe hockey is a sport to be taken seriously of instead of a game to enjoy. After that, Riley relearns the joy of hockey and made her realize why she wanted to play hockey.

The feeling of enjoying the things you love for the first time in a while hits very deep and I'm all in for it.

the trauma this scene gave me because of frozen 2.. the way joy’s aura or particles starting drifting away i instantly thought of when olaf potentially died.. i thought joy was fading away

It means that Riley has chosen to be happy, it's so beautiful.

Throughout the movie, Joy thought that Riley didn't need her and that broke her heart. At least she thought that she didn't really have anything more to do with her. But here it shows that she's still able to be happy.

I just came from watching this movie and maybe I missed it, but all throughout the early part of the movie, Joy never "activated" the console after the puberty alarm went off.

Anger, fear and disgust did (and thought the console was broken), and Joy only utilized it to show Anxiety how to.

Joy spent more time trying to manage the other emotions and get Riley's Self back (which really hit me when she said that maybe part of growing up meant Riley wouldn't need Joy quite as much)...

And then in the end, Riley was choosing Joy, drawing her to the console. (Actually, it was that scene, with Joy at the console motivating Riley that made me realize she hadn't done it for much of the movie).

Interesting how Joy spent much of the last movie kind of hogging the console, to this one barely touching it at all.
