Don’t think much of the teacher for not getting the kids side before freaking out

That sounds like the plot of a early season South Park episode.

I was EXTREMELY shy as a kid. In middle school I to give a speech in front of the class which the teacher recorded. I later found out that she was showing it to all of her other classes for a laugh. It was devastating to a young kid.

My year 10 art teacher ripped up my art book because my work wasn't to her standard.

Basically, she wanted me to do less drawings and more experimentation with things like materials and making things out of those in my art book (which she didn't tell me to do). I didn't know that that was what she wanted me to do, so I drew loads of pictures thinking "She's gonna be so happy with all the work I've done!" I showed her all my work in our next art lesson and she said "This isn't what I wanted. This is not good enough, it looks like a primary school kid's drawing!" and she got another teacher to rip my art book apart so they could salvage what she thought was worth "saving" and everything else went in the bin. Needless to say, I burst out crying when I got home and my Mum immediately called the school to complain. Thankfully, the teacher left the following year, but I'll never forget that.

As an Australian, that word is part of my daily vocabulary.

My high school math teacher, she was the first person to try communicating with me on my level. I'm mute, so most people just pretend I'm not there when they do an activity. But my math teacher knew some sign, and translated so I could also participate. She also let me sit in her room in the mornings, helped me with applications, and gave me advice.

When I was in the 8th grade we had a teacher that was super strict about literally everything. I remember her talking about how her daughters weren’t allowed to wear sweatpants or tennis shoes in public if they weren’t playing sports. She tried to enforce that rule in her class room but sweatpants and tennis shoes were within the school dress code so she couldn’t. She also wouldn’t let us say certain words like ‘stupid’ or ‘crap’. She was the worst. She was fairly young too.

Freshman socialolgy teacher. A young man just out of college and getting his foot in the door. He was a fun dude. One day we're all doing group assignments and making stuff for the presentation. My good friend walks up to teacher and asks for tweezers. Without skipping a beat teacher asks loudly "why? do you have to use the bathroom?" We all lost it. Teacher realized his mistake and turned a very pink shade, then laughed along. More then 20 years later and it's still a highlight.

I swear teachers so f*king stupid when it comes to kids getting in trouble, the same goes for parents, like maybe check what word was said before you go and punish them

When I was in my first year of middle school, there was an old road sign post without the sign attatched in the school yard we played in. And me and my friends, naively, would swing around it (it was stimming. Most of us were later diagnosed as autistic). One teacher came up and, as a way to stop us, said "Hey, you guys, let's not swing on random posts. That's a nighttime activity!"

I didn't understand, except that I liked that teacher and she'd told me not to so i didn't. Years later, it clicked. I will never forget it 😂

I got one, in 8th grade all the boys were answering questions, while every girl in class was silent, eventually, and after a lot of small encouragement from the teacher, she said “boys, go out in the hall” she was the kind of teacher you obeyed, but the tone she said that in made it scarier tenfold, we all get up and walk out, barely holding laughs in, and just as the last guy gets out, the teacher starts scolding the girls about how they live in a country where they have a voice, unlike how she grew up in Mexico, and even further yelling at them for just being quiet, then one girl let out a laugh and it got infinitely worse, more yelling, higher tone, we are standing there and we see the chill teacher pop his head out from his room down the hall, he looks at us and mouths “what the fuck” and he all shrug and mouth “we don’t know” and he went back in, despite that we all loved that teacher, at least all the boys.

When I got home from school one day when I was pretty young, my Mother and her best friend where playing our SNES. They where playing Jeopardy!. My Mother named herself b*tch and her friend named herself C*nt. I of course had no idea what either of those words where, so after saying my greetings with my Mother I looked at her friend and said " So c*nt, how are you today", thinking I was being cute using her game name. I will never forget the looks on their faces before they clued in on why I said that haha.

in fourth grade this moid of a teacher intentionally mispronounced my name despite me begging him to stop every day. i have a common name yet for some reason everyone mispronounced it when i was a kid so it really annoyed me, especially because he did it on purpose. i was also very germophobic in elm school because i had severe stomach infections regularly and was afraid of being in pain. he knew this.

i was out for over a month one time because of a stomach infection. i came back to a piece of paper taped to my desk saying something like 'you don't like people sitting at your desk so i made every single person sit ON TOP OF IT" with his name signed and every single person who sat there signed as well.

i took one look at the note and just started crying for the rest of the day. i never touched or ate at my desk again, and it made completeling school work so difficult because i would have to write or type on my lap instead of on the desk.

he laughed about it.

he was fired shortly after because students were sharing how he was sexually inappropriate with them and parents were complaining that a 40 year old teacher was bullying their child.
