The story behind the scars isn't even hard to guess. The only one capable of inflicting them on Mario is Bowser, and nobody else.

So, Nintendo really needs to take notes, and this comic shows that in the end, he's just human (I already knew he was human, but you get what I'm saying).

One of my favorite pictures I found is of Mario and Luigi getting ready for the day, they bothe have their shirts off and you can see that bothe of them have deep scars on thier chest an shoulders. But no matter they are faced with, the brothers never give up.

This comic isn't the only one, but it is somehow freakishly cruel that Mario sees himself as the redponsible one, as he calls himself Luigis bigger brother, as... they are twins.
