Well if you have ramos, marquinhos, hakimi, Mendes, verrati, ruiz, soler etc + a man with 33+ age, I wouldn't expect the FWs to track back every single time. Messi does track back, but that's rare, mostly stays in midfield or forward, neymar did most of the dirty work, sometimes mbappe did too. Sometimes it's not just players, it's how they are treated. It's not just about money.

Messi used to be one of the most hardworking players in his prime younger days, he used to track back to defend and drop down very deep to intercept or to collect the ball, obviously age has caught up to him and at this stage of his career he shouldn't be expected to do the dirty work for PSG.
