I hope artists start suing the shit out of these image-generating bots.

I will still make art-but I am no longer sharing anything online for corporations to steal.

Society does not deserve artists.

AI art feels like an insult to the essence of art and the process itself which is suppose to allow us to derive joy from. It takes away the process of art, instead just being another process of correcting through words. It lacks the essence of art thus it has no business to be called AI Art.

Art would have just as much meaning to me if I were alone on a desert island and nobody saw it.

as an artist who's studied applied statistics,
guys let me be real here. the more we despair, we more we're giving power to the AI artists and the AI companies. they're heartless b*stards, just keep that in mind.
throughout history, it's been the artists and people who LISTENED to the artists and fought FOR artists who brought humanity back.
there should be a select few of us who learn artificial intelligence and so we can figure out how it works inside out, and then that way we find ways to expose the plagiarism of AI companies. heck, maybe even mess around and destroy these AI programs inside out. it's all fun games and amazing to imagine, but I'm just brainstorming here. we need to toughen up more than ever now and fight back, we need to find ways to work OFF the digital space.

I think it will only make “ human” art more valuable.
Remember in blade runner when he asked if her boa constrictor was real? She said “ no way . Real ones are too expensive

Theres a lawsuit going on against github and OpenAI which is the company on charge of the AI Art proyect, it seem that the company is not only using data from artist but also coding proyects that have copyright which is basically the same problems that we have with AI "Art". They're taking a lot of independent coders proyects and feeding them to the AI for its github copilot suscription service.

When I heard how AI art are starting to take over half of the art community, and during that time I saw a lot of ppl gaining followers just by importing an already generated art piece in just a few seconds, completely ignoring other underrated artist who spent hours and hours creating their artwork. I was so desperate since my dream job was starting art commissions, and thinking abt that drawing was the only hope I depended on is scary. But thank you for talking abt this, although it is till scary to think abt it, at least I know this situation isn’t that horrible as it seems.

As a product designer a few ways we protect ourselves is by not uploading high resolution photos (understandably it loses impact if you’re a digital illustrator), password protected sites with limited time viewing for buyers, not allowing works to be pinned, and AI can’t steal anything that isn’t online. Would be interesting to see how human ingenuity will find a way to market their artwork against these bots. Also proof of the process and be creative with how much you show online, never show the entire artwork

Human as a civilization wants to make life more easy and comfortable with AI
But when it comes to an artist. It's a whole different world, an artist doesn't look for an easy or a fast way to clear their work, an piece of art requires a lot of patience, work and creativity which for a normal person is not very much possible to do and that's what make them different
And that different should stay the way it is cause I Don't think anyone likes it when the credit of their hard work is given to someone else ...

I’m hoping you’re right on this, I wasn’t ever planning to quit art, I was just moreso worried that large companies would buy into this stupidity and start allowing AI to take the jobs of real people. Hopefully this eventually crashes and dies the way NFTs did.

AI ART Is basically just stealing art from someone who spent hours on making it, if we don't exist, AI art won't exist either. DONT GIVE UP MY FELLOW ART BROS, WE'RE HERE TO STAY N DO WHAT WE LOVE!

The more this gets out the more im convinced this isn't even about artists or art... Its about copyrighting hundreds of millions of images... and encouraging you to use their generator to create new ones for them. Until courts rule that the images are either yours or public domain, Your image is their property. Im thinking imagery is the new data grab

People on Etsy selling art but it’s just an edited photo. Nothing beats hand painted original art.

The people who are disagreeing are something else

Even tho A.I art is faster and easier (Even tho they do steal art…)

Fuck that

I don’t support anyone who steals art or supports A.I after knowing the truth behind it

A.I steals art and changes the art a bit (Not all but some or most I think)

Human art has…more value and beauty

It’s…more than just a drawing

So I’m not giving up on art

And people are going against A.I art

And as they should

(I’m 15 btw)

It's scary that I start to understand why I may be a multicreative person.. I do illustration, photography, certified in digital marketing (good at copywriting) graphic design, branding and I started to be passionate and play around with web design.

I wanted to learn coding to make my web design easier until.. AI came in.

I still feel extremely frustrated because while developing a marketing strategy for my multidisciplinary business, I realised that none of my skills are safe from AI.. The thought of how hard I struggled to get to this point only for nothing.. everynight when I get to bed, I get this thought "Should I continue? What should I do to survive over the next 2 years at least?"

This wouldn't be an issue if I can work physically, but I am chronically ill. Also my desire to do more and more may hide a self esteem issue.

Like I never felt good enough.

And no, AI doesn't make it better, nothing will ever make it better.

But thanks for that glimpse of motivation!! In periods like this, other people try to drag you down more but I am glad to see someone like you being so inspiring❤🙏🥺

yeah we should not argue and protect our art work

There should be limits to AI. People will lose jobs (not just artists, other industries as well) just because it saves money. AI should be use to fix errors, not replace them.

I never felt passion in my life until someone teased me while I was drawing and my reactions was something else a different level of anger. Then I found yes this is called passion my passion for art, drawing, drawing process not end result sometimes. And then comes the Ai and depressed me from deep down in my soul. 😢
