Nice one Paul! Yeah I definitely agree with you that it doesn’t add value, but most of us have intentions of keeping these cars forever.

I have a very similarly built evo 9, same gsc s1 cams and all, same blusher exhaust. One slight difference is that I upgraded my evo 9 turbo to an FP hta 71, which is just a slight upgrade over the stock unit but actually spools a bit earlier and still gives a power increase throughout the rest of the rev range.
Excellent video

This is the biggest advantage of the evo over the STI. You can have speed and reliability for a much cheaper cost. In an STI this would cost you double or triple the amount.

Gears and Gasoline also did a price breakdown on the k-swap that I also found interesting. I really think these price breakdowns can be important to car culture as a whole and hope to see more from various people.

5k to make 400whp. Alot cheaper and easier to make 400 on this platform.

I've watched your channel since I bought my evo viii 4 years ago, I love your videos! yesturday my clutch started acting up I'm thinking the tob might have popped off halfway? the clutch still works but the pedal engages at the floor. I'll post a video if you can take a look? thanks for sharing your knowledge you've helped me save a lot of money so far!

Nice, my own estimate came out to $4, 407 just on fuel support, fp green kit, new cams/springs and rebuilt head. Luckily the previous owner already installed the shiny parts like bov, intercooler, exhaust.

Love the videos man keep it coming. I sold my evo awhile back but still miss it

You will also need a tune after installing these parts. Which would be about 450.00

At that point

You could have done a turbo upgrade larger than the EVO9 for just a few hundred bucks more at this point it’s not a big deal

That’s what I would have done and you would have been well over and at 450whp

Which makes 6k or so reasonable

Great video.
Also, I would like to add that labor for all those parts you listed will rack up the bill to almost $10, 000. A clutch job alone is around $1, 200-$1800.

Since you are adding all those goodies, motor mounts would be essential for that build preferably torque solutions.

How much do you think it would have being with labor ?

Here's the real cheapest way to 400whp

1300cc fuel injector
Fuel pump
Clutch
Boost controller
Downpipe
Stock ecu tune on e85

5k is cheap in my opinion. To turbo my BRZ properly is well over $10k. Just for bolt on parts on this evo is cheap IMO
