Summer Fly Fishing (Frensham Trout Fishery) Using All The Tools In My Box Of Tricks

Hey there dudes....

Summer is here and the small still waters around the country are become hard work to catch fish as trout do not like the warmer water.... In these conditions you have to dig deep into your box of tricks .... buzzers, stalking and indicators may be the order of the day to prevent blanking!!

Anyhow hope you enjoy the video guys....

Hey dudes .... The elitism stuff I talk about was mainly influenced by some of the horrid comments I have seen in some of the fly fishing facebook groups I am subscribed to .... People busting each others chops for fishing for trophy trout or implying they are a better angler than someone else because they fish a certain way or certain venues .... I find it distasteful and think people should concentrate more on enjoying the sport themselves rather than focusing on how everyone else is fishing. If people like fishing rivers then more the power to them .... if people like fishing small waters then more the power to them .... if people like stalking double figure trout them more the power to them. I think everyone just needs to focus on enjoying this fantastic sport

Hi I’ve really enjoyed your videos I’m usually a course fisherman but I have fly fishing a go after watching for a while and you’ve got me completely on it thank you so much

Agree totally with your comments, everyone should be able to fish on any size waters they wish to. Don't need internal bickering by fishermen, there are plenty of do gooders who criticising our sport, without us fishermen helping them. Just enjoy fishing wherever you can.

Hi! Completely agree with your comments about fishing how you want. Who's gonna sniff at the fun had pulling a lure? Well let them sniff - it's their loss. Couple of points: CDC is not elk hair but duck down. Both work fine :-) You still need to put a blob of floatant on your foam emerger - right on the top. Had loads of fun with one the other day. Tight lines, buddy!

Have to agree. Fishing is fishing.

In 40+ years of fishing I've done Sea, Coarse (Match Fishing), Fly and Spinning. The only area I haven't tried is Carping and Piking.

Unfortunately each area has it's own "elitism".

I was brought up on Rivers and large lakes (Lake District) and I always remember thinking these small waters would be easy... Haha! Far from it, in fact, I would say that due to the pressure on the smaller waters, they are in many ways much harder than large natural waters.

At the end of the day, just enjoy whatever method you choose to fish (as long as it's within the Fishery Rules).

Another cracking video! Definitely felt for you in regards to the weeds, I swear I get in a good weed tangle every time I go mostly when I get to excited when there’s a big fish near by😂

Hi Barry couldnt agree more about some of the Facebook pages each tactic has its day. Also theres a video called "Rubber band method for cdc dry flies " by Kenneth Halley might be worth a watch to help with your cdc problem of having to change them after a fish.

Beautiful tiger catch on a foam emerger, tied some up but often shy away from using them so will give them ago next time. Also bang on the money about people should mind their business about how someone catches or where they catch on the fly, I do more river fishing myself but I do love fishing a stillwater of any size if their isn't too many people.

Agree with everything yo said about elitism and fly fishing purists. Sod them you pay your money , fish within the rules job done. Good luck to you. If i ever see you at a fishery in kent or sussex i will say hello and shake your hand. :P

I agree with you, I personally don't like Pepper Pig fishing like you do. However I enjoy watching you and Martyn Williams do it and i say wow when the biggies are caught 😮 and I will stick to what I enjoy larger waters and not a double in the water. Each to Thier own. If we were all the same it would be a boring world like the one the far lefties live in 🤔

Great opinion Barry no need for these nasty comments.
I was lucky to lean my flyfishing in the backcountry lakes, streams and rivers of New Zealand but I don't feel any less of a fisherman forking out for a day ticket on a stocked water over here in England.👍
