Master Duel? Pssssht. I see that beautiful string of text "Yu-Gi-Oh History w/Joe Giorlando" anywhere on any of my devices, I drop *everything* to watch.

This is the first competitive deck I have played. This channel is such a nostalgia trip, keep up the good work!

Lightsworns next? Those were the two big decks from 2008-2010 that were missing here. Nice to see Blackwings!

I enjoy this type of side deck presentation a lot more, where you show all the possible options that were popular at the time, helps a lot 👍

As someone who has played on and off since the beginning (and played in some of the same events as you), I always love seeing content that reminds me of the good times. great job as usual

I have actually seen Blackwing decks with Sangan, D.D. Crow and even Spirit Reaper, just so they could play Crush Card. The card was just that crazy.

It's wild to me that Matt ran Dark Eruption and 0 My Bodys. My Body was insanely good because it helped secure your whirlwind searches and you just go plus in the mirror vs icarus attack.

Interesting to see nobody on triple upstart goblin !
It’s great with only 2 whirlwind allowed

Anyone else thinking of cimooo and gage when Joe was talking about Kalut?

Reckless Greed in the side deck might/should have been for the mirror match:
On the one hand, having this as a chainable backrow, it renders your opponents icarus attacks on your set cards less impactful, while simultaneously giving you that "draw 2 push/boost", that could win you the game faster with drawing into gale or kalut (maybe even whilst an attack) to go for dark strike fighter even faster. Thus, you would not have to go into the grind game in a mirror match, which might be annoying and you would shift the focus of your deck more towards going for the otk. Some guys at our locals back then played reckless greed in the main deck in black wings for basically this reason, though didnt continue to do so after the limitation of gale and the banning of dark strike fighter, then focussing more on the controle aspect of the deck.

You should do lightsworns next. Either for synchro cat format, Edison, or lightsworn Rulers for HAT format

Best yugioh channel on YouTube! Another phenomenal video! Our only complaint is that you don’t upload more frequently! Keep up the great work we appreciate it!

Blackwings was never able to beat Spellbooks, Dragon Rulers or Mermails.
The best you could do is go to game 3 and hope you get lucky.
Playing Blackwings was like this "I wish I had 3 Gale and 3 Whirlwind" They waited so long to take them off the forbidden/restricted list that when they did, Blackwings still couldnt compete even with 3 Gale- 3 Whirlwind.

Only one I'd like to see with how much I love Infernities would be the 2014 Xyz Infernity deck that won Worlds. Crazy to think about when Artifact Traptrix of all kinds were still extremely popular and good at that time, and also shows a huge evolution of an archetype that was originally designed to be synchro heavy into a deck that used no tuners or synchros. Otherwise, keep doing whatever profiles you want and I'll keep eating them up lmao

I wish dark strike fighter was still legal in 2011 jan format, synchro kagemusha+grandmaster into dark strike fighter, tribute off kizans infinitely using gateway to FTK the opp

True, Blackwing is a good deck to learn yugioh. I used to play it in 2014 when they were almost forgotten and I came back to the game this year (2022) and they are still good as a deck that can compete.
