2025 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2.0 TSI 300PS in Kings Red Premium Metallic

Показать описание
Volkswagen has spiced up its iconic hot hatch lineup with the introduction of the new GTI Clubsport, a more aggressive version of the recently refreshed GTI. The GTI Clubsport takes the updates from the standard facelifted GTI and dials them up a notch, both visually and mechanically. From its distinctive front bumper to the large rear spoiler, this version is designed to make a bold statement. It rides on larger wheels, starting at 18 inches with an option to upgrade to 19 inches, giving it an even sportier edge.
The performance gap between the standard GTI and the Clubsport has narrowed in the latest Mk8.5 models. The regular GTI now delivers 261 horsepower, an increase of 20 horsepower, while the Clubsport continues to produce a robust 296 horsepower. Additionally, the Clubsport boasts 295 pound-feet of torque, maintaining a noticeable edge in performance over its sibling. This extra power is paired exclusively with a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission, as Volkswagen has retired the manual gearbox for this generation. Enthusiasts may recall that the previous Clubsport, from the Mk7 generation, did offer a manual transmission option.
In terms of speed, the standard GTI reaches 62 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds, but the Clubsport trims that down to 5.6 seconds. Both models are electronically limited to a top speed of 155 miles per hour, though the Clubsport offers an optional Race Package that increases the limit to 167 miles per hour. The package also includes an upgraded Akrapovič exhaust system and larger brakes, ensuring a thrilling experience for track enthusiasts.
Inside, both models now feature a larger 12.9-inch touchscreen and improved controls, ditching the touch-sensitive buttons in favor of traditional physical ones on the steering wheel. Volkswagen also illuminated the touch sliders, addressing a common complaint from drivers.
The GTI Clubsport makes its public debut at the Nürburgring 24 Hours before becoming available in Europe later this year. However, much to the disappointment of fans, Volkswagen confirmed that this model will not be sold in the United States.
