I appreciate you were trying to just give a simple example of SCAN which I know can do much more powerful things, but I think IF(C5<>"", SUM($C$5:C5), "") would be much easier in that example.

ISBLANK would have been faster than scan for the empty values tbh in the first simple example, but Trimrange looks useful to save file size.

This is OT, but do any of you have any idea why "get data from the web" isn't available in Excel 365 for MacOS? I could've sworn it was an option in the past, but this morning I can't find it. TIA
