The key is putting an EQ pedal at the end of your pedal chain to add low end back into the signal.

I use a swollen pickle, snake oil distortion, and snake oil boost on my bass rig. The distortion took quite a bit of dialing in but it was worth it!

The Atmosphere blew me away! I usually use a YYZ, Octave, Envelope Filter bass pedals and throw in the occasional Ibanez Phaser guitar pedal.

I've purposefully set up my rig to be used for either bass or guitar. Just a few turns of some knobs is all the adjustment I need to go from one to the other, amp included!

i love my Crowther Hot Cake on bass. it's been a mainstay on my guitar pedalboard for just about the past decade now, and i pretty much never record bass without it. i mostly use it to add a little bit of grit, just some extra harmonic content. with the presence turned up it kinda reminds me of Bob Weston's Shellac tone, kinda churning and grindy. but if you crank the gain it gets you that chunky Beatles-y, Color Box, 'DI rammed into a desk' style sound. love that thing. i've also used it like a piece of outboard gear and put kick drums thru it for garage rock stuff and it sounds so fuckin rad

also - Turbo Rat on bass sounds insane, turns your bass into a huge wall of sludge noizzze, incredible stuff

I really love using the Green Russian Reissue from EHX on bass. It has lots of low end and if I boost it with an EQ or an OD things get wild pretty quick!

My guitar playing is bad enough, no need to inflict my bullshit skills on the bass community!!! 😂😂😂 I did have a bass years ago, I got rid of it some time ago, I just found it wasn’t what I gravitated to. I will say that putting fuzz on a bass definitely makes it sound even heavier and I love heavier!!! It’s great seeing two of my favorite Youtubers in the same video though!!! Hey awesome video as always.
I'd heavily recommend checking out the French band Mars Red Sky, the bass player uses, among other things, a big muff, a rat and a colour sound wah fuzz, and his sound is absolutely massive. I saw them a couple times live, was absolutely amazing.

Right now, my favorite guitar pedal for bass is the Earthquaker Devices Cloven Hoof! Turning both EQ knobs all the way down gets this really nice mix between cutting and nasty! Watching from Denver CO!
