I work at a small town card shop and the amount of parents bringing in their kids to trade in something like a charizard because they saw one on facebook for like $500 not realizing that one and the one they got from Walmart the other day are not the same card let alone from the same set is both mind-numbing and heartbreaking at the same time.

Okay true there is always that one guy but I’ve had experiences with game stores offering 40 dollars for my entire binder, when I had 4 copies of an 80 dollar card in the first slot (9 slots per page, about 30 pages full of cards, minimum card price on TCGplayer 10$ ). I play mtg so I’m not sure how it lines up in the pokemon world but some stores will definitely try to take advantage of you, choosing greed over a reasonable price.
