Thank you for your support! Much love from Singapore!

Today I am reviewing the Steinhart Ocean One 39 Black Ceramic and why you should consider a homage watch!

Movement for this watch is either an ETA2824-2 or a SW200. Steinhart uses these movements interchangeably.

Ah a fellow Singaporean! I bought mine from Gnomon about 4 months ago. It wears really well and the ceramic bezel is so glossy and striking! Swam with it already as well. Works the way as it should. I've had no problems with the bezel on mine.

Such a solid and beautiful timepiece. Bang for the buck with this watch. I'm loving mine!

In my opinion the size looks perfect for your wrist. I've got a bb58 on order and I'm considering picking one of these up 👍

I had a mental barrierr after i bought my Rolex 36mm Date just, felt like a toy wearing it so small i was so use to wearing those heavy brick of watches made by Nixon and invicta. 70% of my watch collection Disappeared and I only kept everything smaller with a 40mm case. I now love wearing my Steinhart 39 ocean one with the Aluminum bezel its comfortable and i get a lot of compliments on it.

Better tight than loose :), no innuendo intended, would have left it alone, nice video.

I've owned this watch from new for the last 4 years and I wouldn't part with it. I also found the bezel to be very tight from new but it does loosen in normal use; easy enough to rotate with two finger and no play whatsoever. As long as you don't try to prize it open or anything like that you'll be fine ;-)

Very well articualted review. Regarding big and "small" watches. 39mm to 42mm are perfect sizes for a dive watch - but, and it's a big "but" - the lug length also influences how big will watch wear. I wore a 38mm Gerard Perregaux chronograph for years - it looked way bigger on wrist and had massive presence because of the long lugs. I now wear a 43.5mm Citizen ecodrive which has 47mm long lugs so it wears perfectly.
But 9 times out of 10 anything bigger than 44mm is way too big for the average male wrist size.

So sorry you scuffed your watch. I would have been so mad If it happened to me. Thanks for the great review!

I still can’t decide between the 39 and 42mm for my 7-3/4” wrist

You can buy this watch for less than a Omega service. If that is not a bargain I don't know what is. Plus it has an ETA movement ! I have bought two.

Have it on the wrist for about two weeks now. This will be a daily for me for the next couple years (rotating out if there is a special occassion. But on a good leather strap, it might even be good for those occasions too...)

Re the bezel:
Buy a very soft toothbrush. Rinse the watch under luke-warm water while *gently* brushing the bezel. Brush all around at a 90° angle - as if you were trying to get the brush between the case and the bezel. Do that for a minute or two... rinse watch again for a bit then let it dry out. Helped me when my 39mm Steinhart's bezel started acting up.
3:30 Not sure if they use the exact same hands (so difficult to tell when you're looking at two watches of different size). I will say however that I'm looking at my 42mm O1 Ceramic Green right now and its minute-hand does touch (just barely) the shortest of the minute markers on the chapter-ring. Same goes for my 42mm OVM and its sword-hands ... its minute hand also just touches those short minute markers.
I did have the Batman titanium GMT (42) and the 39mm Batman GMT in my hands for direct comparison and I'm pretty sure those two did use the exact same set of hands because they looked a bit too fat and chunky on the 39mm version. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Mercedes hands of the "normal" O1 were also identical in size on both the 39 and 42mm version.

I took the plunge three times. And I’m happy thanks for the nice video.

why on some other reviews the numbers on the bezel is not as bright as yours? did steinhart changed they're bezel or not?
