It kinda sucks when they do that because even though it almost never fits with your own video taste, it almost always makes you feel guilty for not watching it. Like, I'm not gonna watch Episode 273 of some random dude's Minecraft Let's Play, but I always feel bad for not clicking on the video. Or worse yet, you click on that 5 view video, quickly discover you find it rather uninteresting, click on the next video, but then realize that you, viewer Number 6, have negatively impacted that dude's channel statistics, crippling his already failing Youtube attempt even more.

Fact you may not care about: I have genuinely trained my algorithm to show me these types of low view videos that fit loosely into what youtube knows as the content I'm interested in, from time to time. I'll usually see at least a handful a week and I will almost always watch one or two of them even if it's just to encourage it to keep doing that, I really like it. It'd be an issue if it were too many but it's at just the 'right' level. It's one of 'the algorithms' biggest successes for me personally (because broadly speaking it doesn't know what the hell I *actually* like and I have to guide it a lot)
