Honestly with everything I know about the troubled teen industry glad you were there starting underground candy markets with the kids. There are so many people who get involved with that so they have power over kids in the worst ways

After everything I've heard from people who have been sent to those kinds of places, I'm gomna say the fact that you "didn't even really like kids" is specifically the reason they wanted you to do it. The people in running these places seem to actually hate kids. They certainly seem incredibly invested in causing as much pain & trauma as they possibly can to said kids. Fortunately for the kids who were under you care, you are a much better person than most people running these places. Kids have died in these places, they really should be outlawed.

So show them humanity and trust and love and everything that they lacked that led them to where they were. So idk, thank you so much. You helped them see “adults” as humans and not authoritarians
