lecture summary for those who still didn't understand xD
basically monosaccharide ek greek word "saccharide' sy nikla hai jiska matlab hai sugar, aur mono ka matlab hai single so monosaccharide means, single sugar. agy iski qualities hain jo ky yeh hain k it is simple sugar, it is sweet in taste, souluble in water and cant be hydrolysed i simple sugars (for example normal sugar we use). meetha, dissolvable, simple sari qualities puri hain xD. phir w groups hain aldehydic aur ketonic, ab monosaccharides ky ander carbon groups hoty hain jesy 3 carbon wala trises 4 wala tertrose, phir pentoses hexoses heptoses and so on, aur sabse zyada common hexoses aur pentoses hai aur hexoses main sab se imp glucose hai, baqi structures hain bs Thats it.

Sir l am very confused because we know that despite the high molecular weights, presence of large number of OH groups make mono saccharides much more water soluble and poly saccharides are bioplymers of monosaccharides but it is insoluble in water??
