Summer watermelon recipes 🍉 to cordial & to so many sweet recipes! | the delights of village cooking

Watermelon 🍈 is a fruit of popular thought known as a heavenly delight! Usually, the edible part is the sweet juicy pulp🍉 encapsulated in a thick pericarp... Even the pericarp can be used in the cuisines. Melon fruit can be of several varieties according to the colour of the pericarp and the pulp inside. The yellow pulp variety is a bit rare to find.
➡️ We usually don’t throw away the pericarp after eating the pulp and use it to prepare several curries. Fruti fruit and Melon Candy are made after drying the pericarp... 🫣
➡️ Melon cordial can either be used as a drink or a natural colouring agent. “Vandu Cake” made in the steam with jack leaves is an age-old recipe. It was my idea to put “Penipol”🥱🍯 inside of it😍
➡️ Milky fish curry and “Polsambol” are two ideal side dishes for String Hoppers. A mouth-watering taste was added by Melon pericarp curry... 🤤
➡️ It was so mingy to cut the roll cake mixed with melon cordial as it was so unique and picturesque. Just like a dream..🤤😍🍃
➡️ There must be several other types of curries that you make of melon. Don’t forget to share them with me via a comment...🥺🤩

මේ ටිකේම පෑවිල්ල නිසා දොලේ වතුර බාගෙට බාගයක්ම හිදී ගොස්ය.දොල බැම්මෙන් මාරුවෙද්දි මුණගැහුනේ රෙදි හෝදන්න ආපු වෙලේ ගෙදර නංගිලා දෙන්නාය.අතට දැනෙන බර මදකට නිදහස් කරගන්නට මටත් කදිම අවස්ථාවක් විය.ගලේ ගහපු කොමඩු ගෙඩිය හරියටම තුනට පැලුනේ කෑමට බලා උන්නු සාමාජිකයින් ගනන කලින්ම දැනගන මෙන්ය.හොදටම ඉදී තිබූ බැවින් රතු පැහැති මදයේ 🍉 මැද විනිවිද පෙනෙන සීනි කැට මිදී තිබුනි.ගතේ දාහය නිවාගන්නටනම් කදිම පලතුරකි ❄️🍃
පෙරාගත් කොමඩු යුශ වලට දෙහි ඇඹුල් වැඩිපුර දමා සැකසූ කෝඩියල් බෝතල් කිහිපය අතුරුදහන් වෙන්නටනම් අපේ ගෙදර වැඩි දවසක් යන්නේ නැත.
ලෙල්ල ඉවත් කරගත් කොමඩු ලෙලි සියල්ල පොඩි කොටු සහ කිරි බත් කෑලි හැඩයට කපා ගත්තේ රස කතාවකට පෙරමං සකසන්නටය 🍭🫧
පැණි පොල් මිශ්‍රණය දෙකට බෙදා කොටසකට කොමඩු කෝඩියල් එක් කරේ රසවත්බව මෙන්ම කොස් කොල ගොටු වන්ඩුවේ වර්ණවත් බව සිත්තම් කරගන්නටය 🧁🍧 ස්වභාවික වර්ණයන්ගෙන් පැහැපත් වුනු කොමඩු ලෙලි කෑලි තද අවුවේ හොදින් විජලනය වන්නටනම් දවස් දෙක තුනක කාලයක් ප්‍රමාණවත්ය.
ගඟ මායිමේ ඇති තේ ඉඩමේ පස හරිම සාරවත්ය.කොටහක තිබුනේ ගලවා ඉවත් කල යුතු පරණ තේ ගස්ය.තාත්තා සහ සුමිත් මාමා පෙරේදා සිටම එහි වැඩය.තේ ටික වාඩියේ පිලියෙල කරගන්නා බැව් දන්නා නිසා මා රැගෙන ගියේ කොස් කොල වන්ඩු පමණි.වාඩිය ඇත්තේ වෙල් යායට මුහුණලාය.ගහගෙන යන්නට තරම් හුලඟ එන විට පුදුම සනීපයකි.මැදට කොමඩු පැණි පොල් දමා සැකසූ වන්ඩු සේරම තාත්තා ගිල දැමුවේ අතටවත් අහු නොවෙන කොස් කොල වන්ඩු තුන හතරක් කා මදියි කියාය.පැණි රස කෑමටනම් සුමිත් මාමා ද තාත්තාට දෙවෙනි නැත 🥧🫔
ඉගුරු, සුදු ලූණු, කරපිංචා, රම්පෙ, කොච්චි සමග රට ලූණු තෙම්පරාදුවෙන් පසු මිරිස් තුනපහ සහ කොමඩු ලෙලි දමා මදක් අඩිය අල්ලනතුරු බැදගත යුතුය.අන්තිමට සීනි, ලුනු සහ සියඹලා ඉස්ම එකතු කරගන්නේ දිය රසකින් යුතු කොමඩු කෑලි වල පාලු මැකෙන්නටය 🥘
පහුවදා උදේ කෑම මේසය රසවත් ගී ගොන්නක් මෙන්ය.ඉදි ආප්ප, පොල් සම්බෝල, කිරි මාලු සමග ඇඹුලට සැරට කොමඩු ලෙලි බැදුමත් ඒ අතර විය.ඉදි ආප්ප, ආප්ප, පිට්ටු, හැලප, කොල වන්ඩු.. කිව්වොත්නම් තාත්තාට බත් අමතකය.ඒ ආච්චි අම්මා හුරුකල හැටිය 👵🏼👨🏼‍🍳
සකීලට බත් දී මදක් ඇලවුනේ හිසේ බරගතිය නිසාය.දන්නෙම නැතුව හවස්වෙලාය.කොමඩු ගෙඩි වැහෙන තරමට ඒ මේ අත ගිය කොමඩු වැල් මට සිහිනෙන්ද පෙනුනි.රතු පාටට පැලුනු කොමඩු 🍉 කෑලිත් ඒ අතර විය.අනේ මංදා..මටත් පේන හීන.! රසම රස රෝල් කේක් කෑලලක් කා කෝපි එකක් බොන්නට ඇත්නම් කියා සිතුනේ කොහෙන්දෝ පොඩි බඩගින්නකුත් කඩාපාත් වූ නිසාය.හීනෙන් දැකපු කොමඩු වැල් හැබෑවක් වී තෙල් කොලය මත 🍃🌼🍉☘️ සිතුවම් වෙන්නටනම් මහා කාලයක් ගියේ නැත.ඒ ලස්සන කොමඩු රටාවට මැදිවුනු ක්‍රීම් තැවරුනු රෝල් කේක් පෙති එක දෙක ඉවරවෙන්නටත් ඒ හැටි වෙලා ගියේ ද නැත.

This right here is what life is all about. So much beauty and nature in Sri Lanka. Everything about this content is peaceful, calm and serene. Poorna is so multi talented, just beautiful how all the meals prepared are right from their farm/garden. I just love how she prepares meals for her parents and neighbors. There aren't enough words to express how this content affects me, just like a dream. Only one can dream of being in a place like this, far away from traffic and big city chaos, lights and noise. From what is shown in the videos, it's just truly magical ✨️
I know as farmers their life must be hard, although I feel they are more peaceful and happy from inside.
I could bingewatch this all day, just brilliantly 👏 made. The camera person really has captured the true beauty and seems well versed in his/her craft.
They sure lead a very healthy lifestyle consuming organic fresh fruits and vegetables, pulses, grains etc. I'm totally in love with Sri Lanka. The nature and life is amazing. Please show the entire village, like a tour of your village, home, people etc 🙏 💙
