Psy fly feels like a dev item used to test some targetting of enemy tears that just so happened to get fleshed out and put in to the game as an actual item.

Anyways, i wonder how many people skipped something like tech x when spam holding R for Psy fly.
There has to have been at least one and that's what scares me.

As cool as some of the new items are (Death Certificate, R Key, Psy Fly, Stairway) My favourite item is Glitched Crown. Imagine having a permanent 5x D6 charges on every single item for the rest of the run, with almost 100% success rate if you learn how to grab the item you want. It might not help initially but has always led to a busted run, and let's be honest if you can't survive the first few pedestal encounters to get the good items without dying that's your problem.

for me its up to what you want to do or what your playstyle is.
is it adding items through the debug menu for broken builds just to have fun with? rock bottom!
is it playing through normally and wanting a lot of damage? sacred heart/god head/ brim/ ect.
is it playing through normally and wanting to be safe while doing stuff? psy fly/ dry baby/ ect.
its all up to you.

I kinda knew this was how it was gonna end. I got this item a grand total of 3 times, one of them being among my first Repentance runs, and didn't even come close to losing a single one of them. It was a truly remarkable item and I can only hope the thing continues to be at least useful after the nerf.

I always thought the "Best item" argument was always very character-based, but if I had to nominate a top-tier item for Repentance, I gotta give a shout-out to the beast of an item that is *Revelation.* Revelation is an all-encompassing package of incredible effects that can pretty much carry you by itself for a good chunk of the game. It gives you a beam that not only lasts longer than modern brim and ticks almost twice as many times, but also doesn't impede your regular tear-firing. Alongside this, it gives you 2 soul hearts and flying, doesn't downgrade your fire-rate like brim does, goes toward the Seraphim transformation for an additional 3 soul hearts, basically everything you need/want in an item can be found in it. It's only weakness is that the laser's charge is fixed at 2.35 seconds, but that's a small price to pay, considering you still fire your regular tears during it. That item is insane and has quickly become my go-to top priority pickup.
