The Beatles’ homemade loops were reproduced from tape machines in different rooms within the Abbey Road studio complex. ‘We had engineers all over the building standing by with their loops going round, holding them on with pencils,’ Sir George Martin remembered. Listen to Paul talking about how the band’s first tape loop experiments came to be.

I can’t imagine how pleasantly shocked people must’ve been when this song came completely out of left field, changing music forever in 1966. Wish i was there

Excellent Paul McCartney “Tomorrow Never Knows” song interview- as Lennon said when Revolver came out - it’s our latest electronic noise! I call it a tapestry of sound!

Have guessed Paul did that. I love this piece!! And never ever guessed he listened to John Cage. Fascinating!

One of my favorite Beatles songs.
I have long wondered how it was put together.
I really appreciate this video, explaining the process, in Paul's own words.

I heard that the little “seagull “ noises that Paul mentioned is actually him laughing and it was sped up for the song

Think of how far they progressed in only 2 short years. From She Loves You to Tomorrow Never Knows. An incredible growth spurt. It was their uncanny ability to keep reinventing themselves that has made them the all time legends that they are today.

Paul did everything. According to Paul. He played all the instruments and wrote all John's songs for him. He even made the tea and invented the teabags they came in. It's a small miracle the other members of the group (Whoever they were) even bothered to show up. What a legend! It's criminal how underrated and how little acclaim he has had throughout his career.
