You could use most anything including cat litter. How about making a tube/sausage from a plastic sack filled with enough weight product then use all your tiny scraps of material / old jumpers chopped up etc to stuff the rest. Reuse, recycle. You then simply ensure the weight is at the bottom.?

I wonder if one could sew a divider length wise, then stuff the rice first. Next stuff the polyfill into the second channel of your tube. Double wrap the narrow ends, fold over twice, then stitch or glue-
gun across.

I was thinking of just using my fabric scraps to fill this. Do I need rice? Is that to weight it down? Mine is going on my front door and I've never used one before.. Does anyone know if they go mouldy with time? (with the draft and cold etc) was thinking of adding a zip so I can swap out the stuffing with time if it was to get mouldy.
