Steve Buzza is a UK PGA Golf Professional and Sport Scientist currently based in South West Florida. Buzza Golf is a specialist in Driving Performance, recently completing a Biomechanics research Masters thesis 'THE EFFECT OF TASK CONSTRAINTS ON KINEMATIC AND KINETIC VARIABLES
IN GOLF DRIVING PERFORMANCE' which explored velocity generation and functional variability.

Originally from Exeter in the South West of England Steve moved to to the USA in November 2017. Previously he was the Performance coach for a UK number 1 ranked university golf program and Head of Instruction for David Leadbetter at David's Bangkok facility.

I change mine myself twice a season. Not because I wear them out, but I like trying other grips and new grips feel great as we all have experienced.

About to change mine before this golf season gets going. So every year or so for all my clubs aside from my driver and 3 wood....they will get changed when I see a need but at this point I don’t need to change them since they are just a year old. I have changed my wedges more often but then again I use them more. I play twice a week from Spring until Winter.

Just in the process bought some last week, l just have to put them on. Normally change about every 2 years dont play alot. I wash them with hot soapy water and Steelwool gets rid of the dead rubber and grim once a quarter. New grips make the set feel new.

Just did half my set. Quite time consuming when you have to scrape off all the old grip tape. I do mine every couple of seasons (lamkins are pretty durable). I reckon most of the benefit of new clubs is actually the lovely new grips!

Thinking about trying mid size up from regular as I’m getting sore hands.... usually change every 18 months or so.

I usually change mine once a year, maybe twice if I practice more often. Usually take some sand paper once or twice a month as well

I don't play nearly as much as I would like to, but I tend to change mine every year regardless!! 👍🏻

Just a question. So I’m a right handed player, and recently I’ve noticed that every time I play I get blisters on the index finger of my left hand (the gripping hand). I’ve never had that before, and I do notice my shots aren’t as good as they used to be. So my question is, does the blistering indicate that I need to change my club grips? And buy a new glove?

I practice also and change my grips often
I also use odds then evens, so all clubs are getting used 👍

I am the poster child for not changing grips. I go 3 to 4 years sometimes. They become almost slick when dry. I play 70 rounds a year and during the spring, summer, and fall I am at a driving range twice a week. My teaching pro became so mad at me he changed them for free last year but I had to promise I will do it once a year from now on. That said, it really does make a big difference with new grips. I was just lazy and cheap. I think people need to think rounds played and not time on shift when it comes to grips.
