Extreme weather in the form of heavy rain that poured over parts of the island of Rhodes, caused flooding in several points on the island, on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
The local government through the Independent Civil Protection Office of the Municipality of Rhodes, appealed to residents in the areas of Ialyssos, Pastidas, Maritsa, and Damatria to remain in their homes, and avoid unnecessary travel, both within and to or from the area, because it was considered unsafe due to the heavy flooding that occurred.
One of the points affected was the road network in the Ano Ilioupoli area towards Rhodes, Lindos, Asgourou, Agioi Apostoli, and along the Herakleidon road, which experienced significant loads, and the intersection of the road network was unsafe due to flooding.
Then on the road from Kremastis bridge to Pastida, because the River has overflowed, the Road from Pastida to Ialyssos at the height of Pastrikos is closed, because of fallen trees, and the Road from Treis to Pastida is closed, also because of fallen trees. Then a landslide on the road from Dimylia to Apollon, the road on Rodos Lindos road in the Lidl area is flooded and the water level reaches 70 centimeter.
