Galaxy S21 Ultra VS Galaxy Note20 Ultra: Samsung Undid Its Own!

So, you navigate to the store, see the new Galaxy and think, yeah this is the one I really want, but if we're honest, last year's phone is almost the same phone, so why pay more, right?

Well, this is one of those rare cases where it's not that simple. Right now if you want to buy last year's Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the price has actually *dropped* to match the new S21 Ultra. I know! It makes no common sense, but it's been the usual trend where the Note has always been more expensive than the S because of the added features. I even read a few of your comments in my review stating that this new Ultra wasn't a worthy upgrade when compared to last year's Note. A statement I've historically agreed on for at least five years, given how much Samsung blurred the lines between both lineups.

So, instead going back to its roots, what happens when Samsung decides to blend them even more than before, but this time, without the price gap? I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and let's just say they're less similar than you think. This is Galaxy S21 Ultra VS Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Nope nope, disagree with you Jaime. The inconvenience of adding a specific case, making the phone wider, not having bluetooth as a shutter button and having Expandable Memory a must keep the Note Line up alive.

truly speaking, internals dont matter anymore. even chips from 3 years ago can do everything us normal people and even professionals want

I have expereniced both, but i decided to keep the Note 20 Ultra. Even if the internal is updated, there are some minor difference that make the Note more attractive. 1. The boxy desgin, it's so unique and elegant, the S is just the same as every phone out there. 2. The integrated S Pen, it really makes the S Pen more enjoyable to use, and remote shutter is actually a very really useful feature. 3. The aspect ratio, not many reviewers mentioned it, but the aspect ratio on Note is more comfortable, it fits most photos and videos better. The S is the common elongated desgin, the really usable screen size is noticeably smaller than the Note when watching most videos. 4. The weight difference is noticeable. Note 196g vs S 229g.

For these reasons, at this point I consider Note 20 Ultra to be the better phone. I understand Samsung want to merge the two lines, but the Note should stay as the real flagship, the S Ultra can go and the S line can be moved down as the affordable flagship.

I still have an s8+ and will be upgrading to the Note 20 ultra for no other reason than it still has an sd card slot. I'm sick of Samsung following Apple's every move. If the next phones don't have the SD card slot brought back I might leave Samsung altogether for another brand that does or maybe downgrade to the A series. Neither I really want to have to do.

Still using the Note 9 for the last 2 years and i actually love it...Cant find a single reason to upgrade at the moment!!!Note 9...the last TRUE King of Note series....😉

Man I still got my Galaxy S10+ with 1Tb of internal memory in it and extended memory card slot of 500 gigs.. I'm not upgrading anytime soon

Was due for an upgrade, and bagged the 21 Ultra. Absolutely floored at what it can do, and the cameras are absolutely crazy. Makes my old S8 looks quaint.

Your wrong this time Jaime, the Note with bluetooth spen micro SD, and MST still makes it the Boss of all bosses and slot for spen. Making it a foldable is not worth it, no waterproof, no wireless charger naw I'll keep my Note 20 ultra

I would still pick the note 20 ultra due to the micro sd card and MST. Those are features that make it better than the S21 Ultra to me!

If I didn't use MST payment so much I would switch. Unfortunately during this pandemic I find myself using MST everywhere especially at the store Burlington. They always tell me they can't take "Apple pay" and I pull out my note20 ultra to make the payment. Why did they take that feature away?
