the fact that you need to go through a submenu at all is ridiculous. why is there no input switch on the remote itself

Doesn't work on USA S95Bs, never did, still doesn't. (Wish it did!). Always worked on the UK/EU S95bs. Don't know if the limitation is in the USA firmware or the USA remote (if it's different). Currently running 1503.8 but it hasn't worked back as far 12xx.

OMG, thank you so much! It's funny that a loader "spinner" shows up on S95B for such a simple menu. If the TV has to scan input sources, it should show the menu immediately and update available inputs as it does the scanning. Why is Samsung shipping it's TVs with such a crappy software is beyond me.

Hi! Thanks for this! Do you know with the new Samsung Smart TVs if say your Xumo Box is on Input 1 and your Amazon Fire is on input 2, is there away to program any of the remotes with one button for the Xumo and another button for the Fire ? My mom is 80 years old and Japanese and does not understand how to navigate her smart TV input selects 😅 she needs short cut buttons.

We purchased a very nice cabinet with a TV lift about 8 years ago. All went well until our little remote quit working about a month ago. We took the remote to a local place where they put in a new battery. So the remote seems fine, but will not connect to the lift in the cabinet and raise the TV. My husband had to get into the rear of the cabinet and manually open the top cabinet door and then raise the TV using the button inside the cabinet (the one on the lift itself). That works just fine. It's the remote that doesn't seem to work. What could be the problem? If you're not able to help, can you direct us on who to call regarding this problem. We can get the TV down and the top door shuts, but then opening the cabinet door on top and raising the TV using the remote is the problem. All seems to work except the remote. For now the TV is raised until we can fix this problem. Sorry for being so wordy. It's a mystery to us grandparents who don't know a lot about technology.

On S95B and latest firmware it feels or is much more than 2 seconds. Too long. Then going to settings is another 2-3 seconds. And this is fastest way to open settings?

I despise the new UI so much. This alone has killed any idea of owning or recommending a Samsung TV. It’s that bad.

Love the trick though, will tell people I know who already have bought this abomination.

This is going to be polarizing, but hear me out.. Bixby is actually awesome for this. If you're not already using the built in voice assistance features, then the odds of someone accidentally triggering Bixby are quite low. I use it to do almost everything on my tv. "Set the brightness to 40" done. "Set picture to filmmaker mode" done. Etc.

Thank you! I just spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to talk my 80-year-old uncle with early dementia through the process of changing inputs...and we still never figured it out. I can't see his screen and the instructions are not helpful at all. We tried to setup the voice remote but that requires creating and signing into a Samsung account, something that is impossible for him. I seriously can't believe Samsung did not put any thought into accessibility when they created this remote.

It doesn't work on mine (it doesn't have a proper settings button on the remote) but thank you regardless! I hope this is useful for a lot of people ^^

The fact that you even have to do this and there's no dedicated external input button is really not helpful though Samsung. Their hardware is fantastic, but their software and UX is the reason I never buy Samsung phones or TVs.
