10 - 15 seconds is enough of an intro. One thing to do is show a quick clip of the video before the intro. The idea is the hook, 10 sec intro and then straight into the gameplay.

I'm going to try and experiment with my next videos on creating a teaser for the rest of my video at the start. I guess just out of vanity my usual "intro" is the thumbnail pic so that people can see it (I'm proud of the cool shots I took in the game's Photo Mode) but that tends to be a silent couple of seconds before the action starts. That's crucial time I'm giving up.
