Great advices! I bought a MacBook Air M4 on the day after global sweeping tariffs was announced. Was planning on getting it anyway, and I did my taxes on it. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase since it’s more of a need and I am done overpaying my inefficient CPAs.

Useful info, especially with current economic uncertainty.

Nobody really knows, just wait and avoid panic spending.

I use this analogy. I don't change my laptop every two years or three years. I applied the same rule to a phone.

If you have an old phone with low battery health, probably buy now

My plan was to buy a Pixel 9a when it was released, its past time to replace my One Plus 8, admittedly the week of tariff noise just pushed me to do it immediately rather than wait a month or two.

"Panic buying" is about as smart as panic dating. Or panic-anything else. Don't panic unless your life is in danger. Unless your phone is hooked to your life-support system. Don't panic about it. Grow up people.

Tariffs or no tariffs make no difference for me. I have burned by bad quality products so many times. Either way is fine with me.

Unless your iPhone is more than 5 years old, it's probably fine. I upgrade every 3 years and I sometimes feel guilty. Not too guilty though, because I hand my 3 y/o phone to my partner who doesn't care much about cutting edge tech. We're saving thousands with this system and not suffering one bit.

People that don't even have the money or intent to buy new tech need to calm the F down and stop talking nonsense.

I'm buying things I've needed for a while to beat the tariffs: a ladder and step stool, a cat water fountain (for drinking) for example. We use a toaster and toaster oven nearly daily, so wonder if I should buy spares of these...they are going to be more than double current cost! The thing I'm hoarding now is cash...I'm postponing concrete work that would probably cost 15k and not buying stocks. Things must be tough: I'm being approached at local home improvement store by guys handing out business cards.

Tariff? What about second hand from third party?

your experts review tech, rather not economics, geopolitics, international trade. I do like CNET but most any tech or consumer blog isnt expert enough to opine fully and comprehensively . CNET commentators are smart enough to couch things like "price them aggressively... possibly taking a loss to get people in..." etc etc which may be true, but a real 'expert' would know the actual margins Meta does or does not make on the product and where the components are sourced, for certain. Maybe say 'consumer experts"

Basically don’t pay attention to what’s going on. These tariffs will never go into place. It’s all just a game.
