When I came across your video, it takes me down memory lane. Losing my farm to the hurricane Florence on September 2018 here in North Carolina dealth a huge jab. But with an influx of $45k monthly made my family happy one more timee

I have a 10 x 16 greenhouse. I'm in Montana so we still freeze this time of year. I just have cold weather crops growing right now in the raised beds. I make a low tunnel over them and put a string of Xmas lights around my plants, keeps it at about 40 at night. My lettuce is doing well

This is my first spring with a greenhouse. My husband built me an 8x16 greenhouse. He installed a ventilation fan and thermometer so it will turn on and off according to the settings, and a fan for air movement as well. 😂 I’ll be sure to get some copper fungicide too just in case. Thank you for sharing your expertise Luke! I’m having so much fun!

Fellow Migardener here! Hope you all are braving this storm ok! Thanks for all the tips. Your channel has given me the confidence and knowledge to start my own garden. Now I proudly call myself a Migardener

I also watch Millenial Gardener because He is located in my state of NC. I watch a few channels, but these two are the ones that I really enjoy. Not to take anything away from all others, because I like them all, even ones in the UK. I just watch them all for different reasons and appreciate the hard work put into their videos. The point of mentioning the former channel is that he uses 60 gallon pickle barrels to keep his citrus and avocados alive in winter along with C9 lights where possible to keep them alive where technically they can't be grown. They are beautiful and thriving, He is, however, in zone 8b on the coast.

Saginaw, Michigan. Thank you for this tutorial. It's good to know that I sort of knew the things you talked about, but it was good to have it really explained. Good Job!

I am in north central South Dakota and this year I will have a greenhouse from Harbor Freight up and running. It may be late but it is together except a wood frame inside it needs to be made. They have reinforced it and put automatic vent openers in it. Hopefully it will last a while. Not sure at all how it will work up here! Excited to try! Seeds are started inside our house with more I need to do.

PNW INLAND IDAHO HERE... I use 20 x 48 heat mats, grow lights and humidity domes under a 2nd cover in greenhouse to get going. I have milk can heaters and fans... and yes the fungal issues can spread quickly if not controled.
Thank you for the hint on the copper... i used on our fruit trees and never thought about for the starts.

Thank you for the info we have a 80ft x30ft we just put up ! all that’s left is the plastic and setup inside 😅 can’t wait to start using it ! I live in desert in California so it will be wonderful for my winter to really extend what I can grow then I was going to experiment by rolling the sides up in late spring and putting on a shade cloth to see if I can use during the summer ??? We will see ❤

Thanks for addressing greenhouses. We have a 20 x 20 and are working on adding the heat and mounting the fans. I do have the 55 gal drums of water. Right now I am just starting brassicas in there but once things warm up I will start other things too. Maybe for next spring the heat will be installed....thanks

Thanks for discussing heating options! i put up a small plastic 10 x10 greenhouse in my high tunnel for seedlings this year (cheap, and protected from wind was my thinking) and have been worrying about using a space heater for

Thank you for doing what you do! I just purchased my first home and we are putting in fruit trees and I even found a high tunnel frame in the back of our property that I have plans to recover and start using. Your videos are super helpful to me in this chapter of my adventure.

Thanks for sharing. I have a 10x10 deck that I transformed into an enclosed greenhouse using 10ft 2x4s, hardware cloth, & Plastic. I keep it warm over the winter with 10 - 45 gal garbage cans(rain barrels)

Great video Luke! I converted an old shed that we had on the property into a greenhouse a few years ago and this video has some great tips.

I have committed to keeping it completely green - meaning zero electrical power. Everything we have installed has been 100% solar - which is great except I am struggling to find a solar heat source that will keep the temperature optimal during the early spring when the overnight temperatures are still quite low.

Right now I have seedlings inside our home but with pets and limited spots in our windows I'm stuck growing 1-2 types of seeds at a time; I really need to get things to optimal levels in the greenhouse so I don't have to wait until late May to use it.

Thank you for your knowledge and sharing your expertise with us! I've really enjoyed your content these past couple years.

I received one of those inexpensive walk in plastic greenhouses for Christmas. I know it would be a kite in my windy backyard. But I'm going to put it under my deck to secure it and see what happens. It will get morning sun and I'll need to cut the plastic for a vent. I didn't ask for it but on my bucket list is to have a greenhouse that I can sit inside with my morning coffee with my veggie plants. So if I can do that and just harden off some veggies I'll call it a win for now. Love your videos!

YES it's those nightime low temps which are SO CRUCIAL....I only have a small 8 x 10 temporary greenhouse, with no heat, but placed close to house IN CASE the overnight lows are too low, then I bring all the trays indoors, down half flight of steps into basement for overnight. In the morning, bring them all back up half flight of steps, out the door & into greenhouse once the temps are decent. Rinse Lather Repeat until overnite lows are 40's to 50's depending on the seedling. I don't think there's any kind of heater which I could put out into that smaller greenhouse which would be safe (not too hot) but dream about having a larger, permanent polycarbonate structured to withstand Minnesota snowfalls.
