Yep, Reporting from Gizmochina (17/8), Eco2 OLED is one of the first screens to replace the polarizer. So, the polarizing plate, which is typically used in OLED panels, lowers the brightness by up to 50% as it tries to increase visibility by blocking light from outside the panel.

I'm stuck on deciding between a flip4 or Zenfone 9 to jump back to Android after having a 13 mini. I love the 13 mini for everything but the lack of non-pia sideloading for the couple apps I need/want. I want to keep the small footprint while having upper midrange to flagship performance, so I'm left with basically the flip4 or Zenfone 9 for the newest. If there isn't news on the actual release of the Zenfone in the US from first party resellers over others raising it 100 to 200 dollars for resell then I'm going to just preorder for the flip4 for the bonuses (256gb upgrade and case for free).

I could always just save the money I would pay after trade in and use that on one of the newer ipad 11 pros that hopefully releases this year (or an older one at a good discount, M1 is more than enough for my editing needs). The flip4 does have the bundle discount for the Galaxy Tab 8's and I don't have any Apple stuff outside of the 13 mini so I may also look into an s8+ or s8 ultra. Lack of solid editing apps like pixelmater makes me hesitate on that. Lightroom is there, but that's about it when it comes to serious nondestructive raw editing tools.

Samsung's pricing model is a scam. They give you a lot of freebies but they do not impact the final price you have to pay.
