NEED A NEW MULTITOOL, BROWSE THE MASTER LIST OF AMAZON LINKS BELOW, HAPPY SHOPPING :]

I’ve been using the same Swiss Army Knife (a Wenger Traveler) and same Multitool (a prehistoric Leatherman from the 1980s) for over 20 years now. It is time to update my selection of multitools and Swiss Army Knives. I will be doing a series of videos where I try to find the ideal model for me, or at least top 2-3, in each category below. These are my categories:

SAKs

1. Keychain-sized
2. EDC (in pocket)
3. EDC (on belt pouch)
4. Home/Large Kit Knife
5. XL Bushcraft/Camping/Survival SAK

Multitools

1. Keychain-sized
2. Mid-sized
3. Full-sized
4. XL Heavy Duty/Professional

all leatherman multi-tool's come with play so that when you open them they dont get too tight there is even a disclaimer on the leatherman website on how they come with play. There quality is still great i have old wave and new raptor both are great also bought 3 wing men as gifts for poeple who didnt have EDCs and they loved them and carry them every day thanks for anther great video

the minichamp and the vic swisstool are my hard use/minor use everyday all day combo for years! love love love them! i have a wingman with the same problem as your sidekick. they suck. and can be dangerous because when you screw sth together the blade can easily fold out.
looking forward to more tool stuff

I have the Leatherman Wingman made very similar to the Side Kick and it wiggles a little just like yours did. Pretty sure they're made that way.

Multi-tools and SAKs are my main area of interest so I can't wait to see your new videos. I don't know if you're looking for suggestions or not, but with so many options here's some I would recommend checking out. SAKs 1: I've found the one with the nail clippers to also pretty handy. 2: I wouldn't go above 4 layers myself, but it's up to your preference, I like the Vic Explore best, but if that's too big go with an ALOX model like the Pioneer. 3: Like I said the Vic Explorer or 4+ layered models might be good here. 4: Something like a Wenger Tool Chest or Vic Swiss Champ. 5: The Vic Hercules is pretty good. Multi-tools 1: The ones you got or the Gerber Dime. 2: Any of the three original Leathermans (They may be a bit tall, but they make up for it in thinness.) 3: Leatherman Wave, Rebar, Blast, Swiss tool Spirits, you can also try the original Gerbers or the US made ones (Like the MP400 & 600 if you like the one hand design.) However their China made tool are trash, and I don't really recommend them. 4: The Leatherman Supertool 300, Surge, I also here the SOG Powerlock is ok, or the normal Swiss Tools. *Takes a breath* Sorry for the long comment, but I could talk about this stuff all day LOL.

My EDU is the sog power assist. Nice solid piece but i had to de lock it as we're not allowed safety blades in the UK

I bought a sidekick about a year ago. After a couple of months the main blade started rusting an the lock for it broke off. Also after a couple of weeks the spring on the pliers also gave does making it hard to keep close. So I decided to switch to the SOG powerlock.

I like that old LM! I just found one all beat up and buried in my mother in law's basement.. score!

I think your vids are among the best I've seen, cheers to that. Now if you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? And maybe, what have you done? It really helps qualify the phrase 'EDC'' when you know what 'everyday'' involves for a person, or what it has involved over time.

May I suggest you try the victorinox camper model its great !!!especially with the saw wich is very very sharp.
Also as far as a leatherman try the Rebar model all the items you need and not a lot of weight

My Sidekick has a little play like that also. Hasn't gotten any worse though after lots of use.

Please review the protool line of knives, please, as they do appeal to me but cannot find reviews. Especially from top reviewers such as yourself or cutlery lover.

My leatherman wingman has the sideplay problem, it's annoying but I use it as a beater so it's not that big of a deal
