The Simple Carp Rig!

We get a lot of questions about what is the simplest carp rig. Well, it doesn't get more basic than this on small to medium venues! #espcarpgear

I started going carp fishing with my dad back when I was about 7 or 8 around 20 years ago. And I can remember my dad having a rig wallet filled to the brim with these rigs, using esp raptor curve shanks, and we caught plenty back then. Nice and simple 👍

Wish i had all the crap have bought n used in last 39 yrs carping and just used this type of rig the whole would have caught the saved a bloody fortune.
Next yr am on zigs and nothing else zigs all year and at all times.

I went back to a standard hair rig 2 seasons ago with the tungsten loaded hook Link an size 8 cryogen curves, caught no end, had a good season. I don't know how I managed to shy away from it to be fair as it was successful. All I use is ronnies now. It's amazing how a trend can steer you clear of something that is already working. Not that I've done bad on the ronnies. I may have to go back to basics...

Nice and simple love it way to much bits and bobs now a days attached to rigs !!! I just use the X stuff t loaded on a slip d rig and bait screw can then be used bottom baits and pop ups works for me love it

Perfect rig I use something very similar & simple .. love all the esp hooklink, pva etc but have noticed their hooks are not as sharp as should be out of the packet .. patterns are great, are lads getting them sharpened as they are certainly not as sharp as other companies hooks out of the packet
