According to the World Health Organisation, approximately 10 million people will fall ill with tuberculosis (TB) each year, and despite being a preventable and curable disease, 1.5 million will ultimately die, making it the world’s second most infectious killer, after COVID-19.

With a mission to save lives and end human suffering, KNCV’s approach is to put people first through innovative, effective, and sustainable strategies that demonstrate a positive impact on health, whilst accelerating the global decline of TB and other related diseases. By broadening the innovative methods of diagnostics, KNCV is able to use extensive experience to diagnose other infectious diseases through for instance nanopore sequencing technology.
