Most tales of Vikings are obsessed with their exploits in the west...we choose instead to row east and south with them. This 2nd person account puts you in the role of Wulfgar in a historically and chronologically accurate fictional tale of Vikings in the east.

In this episode we head to Constantinople...

As a researcher and book dealer, I'm impressed with the quality of your videos. First person narrative is a delightful way to share complex knowledge without devolving into the boring drone of so many videos. Your narrative structure invites the viewer into the primary subject's experience of Viking social and family life, new locations, languages, sketchy situations and interactions with other people groups. The skillful weaving of the different social and cultural backgrounds adds dimension to the narrative. Lastly, your handling the complex background information with such a light touch means that it supports the story, never overwhelms it. Bravo!

Saying that the Romans didn't keep as clean as the Vikings is a little weird. Unlike the other medieval kingdoms Romans kept the same hygienic standards as the old empire. Yes the Vikings were clean but not mote then Romans. Heck even the medieval kingdoms of Europe were far cleaner then was supposed in media. There were bathhouses in Paris as early as the 800s.

Vikings were cowards who couldn't wage siege warfare.

Before I forget - I wish to compliment you for your rather neutral American accent but particularly for your very respectable pronunciation of names and words (imo) of foreign origin; not only in this video, but others which you've posted.

I have come to enjoy your first-person voyages very much, to my own surprise (since I'm a picky bitch), and have subscribed, expecting more stories of this quality.

Thank you for your shared effort. Cheers!
