Is Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic worth visiting if you don't stay at a resort?
____________
Punta Cana is a hot destination especially known for it's all-inclusive resorts. Whether it's just for a simple getaway vacation, a bachelor or bachelorette party, or a wedding...people flock to this spot in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic primarily for it's crystal clear water and beach vibes. We chose to explore this area independently by renting a small local airbnb less than 5 minutes from the beach and in this video share our first impressions on the current infrastructure of Punta Cana, and whether or not it's worth visiting?

if you are not going to a resort, YOU HAVE TO go to Puerto Plata. Las Terrenas, Cabarete and Sosua just to name a few.

DR has 47, 000 squared kilometers, DR is biggest than Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland you have only have been in 420.000 m² which is the size of Punta Cana which is known for all inclusive, If you like Switzerland there's a province called "La Vega" which has a 2 municipalities in the mountains called Costanza and Jabaracoa, try to stay there at leats 3 days, to see the view over the clouds.

The real question is not what other countries to visit in the caribbean, but what other places in DR can you visit? I'll recommend you Las Terrenas and Cabarete, smaller beach towns with almost no resorts, but better beaches than Punta Cana and more authentic experience of DR

Punta Cana is not the end all be all in Dominican Republic. PC is mainly known for their all-inclusive resorts. You will find far more beautiful beaches in Las Terrenas/Samana in the northeastern part of the island. Puerto Plata is also very nice, and by far the most beautiful beaches are in the southwest part of the island but the infrastructure there is not yet there. They are constructing an airport and about 10 all-inclusive in Pedernales, near Bahia de las Aguilas (Eagles Bay).

Go to Cabarete and Sosua in the Province Puerto Plata. Different vibe and more international. Also Samana is a great place to visit the beach without locals trying to sell you things all the time. Is more international and really quiet. Samana is incredible. Try it out.

Puerto Rico was pretty awesome
July 1st- July 6th
Literally nobody coming up and selling things, food was great. Some good coffee and dessert shops. And everyone under 50 could speak English.

This is why we love going to St. John USVI. You can explore the entire island!

Great video 👍🏼. I'll be traveling to Punta Cana solo in a few weeks. What local gym do you recommend over there?

I have visited Punta Cana several times. Twice via Airbnb and three time via resorts. If you’re going to do Airbnb you definitely need a car or utilize Uber. There are beautiful public beaches like Macao or even the public beach near the airport.
