THE Best Room & Speaker Correction.... But is it worth the price? [Trinnov Nova Compared]

Room and Speaker calibration software has become increasingly popular lately—and increasingly affordable. But Trinnov Audio proudly stands apart by offering some unusually high end monitoring solutions. What do they offer that others don't, and is it worth the added cost?

Big thanks to Trinnov for supporting this channel and sharing their tools with us.

I've had the device for 2 months now and I'm absolutely blown away by what it's doing for me. I have calibrated my KEF LS 50 and sub KC 62 The stereo became wide and highly embossed. All the bass issues are gone and now I have bass everywhere in the room. Dense and tight. High frequencies became crystal clear. The mids are clear and open without being annoying.

Thanks Justin and Antoine, I'm a recent adopter of the Nova and La Remote, and very much enjoying it. I'm managing to play midi keyboard parts with the bypass option, but very much looking forward to the lower latency options.

Ps... To the naysayers, I understand you either would never spend this amount of money on this type of solution, or you simply cannot afford the Nova, at this time. If you've tried Sonarworks or the original ARC and compared it to the Trinnov (I have, and also tried Neumann MA1), you would know that they don't compare (including the software setup, taking measurements, stability and in use), and the amount of time you can waste trying to get your mixes right because your monitoring is not accurate, you would be happy to spend what you need to for a great solution, that will save you time and peace of mind! Trinnov Nova is a pro solution for serious mixers, if you're not at that stage, then it's not for you.

Arc 4, absolute no-brainer for the money. Use it in my well treated mixing room with my Adams A8H's and it's the icing on the cake! 😎

Yes, Justin, I would love to see it this year since the previous one couldn't be done, already waiting for the end of May.😊😊😊

Hi Justin! I am following up on this older video. I have been waiting on Trinnov Nova hard bypass/lower latency features before buying. Have you heard anything as to how much longer these updates will be?? I'm ready to get one, but cannot justify without these features. Thanks!

I read the comments... man... people have to understand. Music production has sience behind it... since the beginning.... those dudes on white robes did actually knowwhat they were doing...nowadays anyone with a laptop and some pirate software is a producer a musician a sound engineer.... and it's not people's fault... it's their dream... the companies make a ton of money out of it the last 25 years... but trinnov for someone who really knows about physics and sound is a blessing... if you own a pair of monitors costing 6K and above... trinnov is the way to make it work even better.... ofcourse it will make cheaper monitors sound better... but up to apoint...cause the material of the speakers and amps inside can go so far...
It;s way more than just an eq fix...

novice question here, would I be able to use this with my Adam audio's a7v's, barefoot 03's and a pair of psi audio a23's? Found myself going down the rabbit hole and with all 3

Hi Justin, do you already have this year's lineup? You already found the right sponsor for Jason Goldenberg, I love this channel, you don't see anything like it!

It seems even for a HiFi user there's no need for the twice as expensive Amethyst, you can just connect a streamer transport to the Nova ...

@SonicScoop Did you notice any added hiss to you're setup? Another reviewer said he noticed significant hiss with it added into the chain

As someone with a small treated room im definitely interested in the Nova. But as an ex-programmer It does also seem to come with some risk regarding the the use case of low latency for compositoin/tracking as the software running on the box is not completely optimized yet.

Do they knoow for sure that they will be able to get the latency under 10ms with the current FPGA in the hardware even? Or maybe they wont be able to do it in this revision of the hardware.

I guess in the old days the resource intensive parts of their algorithm would be written in assembler code or maybe it already is. Guess time will tell how low they can get the latency in future updates.

Hey Justin, I would like to hear your thoughts on what Dirac is doing. I’ve come from Ik multimedia’s ARC to Sonarworks and now to Dirac because Trinnov is such a big jump budget wise.

People often neglect THD, especially when boosting. Also boosting SBIR nulls… no magic fox for that other than getting placement and treatment as good as you can

I’m waiting until I can just leave it on and forget about it. I need to *track* through it WITH the correction. If they can get it down to 5ms I’ll buy one in a heartbeat

ARC 4 all the way... no-brainer for the price! 😎

The Trouble with Trinnovs...

is that you're spending an ABSOLUTE FORTUNE to do a temporal room sweep that only needs to really be done once, unless you plan on making major changes to your listening environment. And then there's the box... There is no way on this earth that the DSP going on in the Trinnov box CANT be done natively on a half decent PC or MAC.

Trinnov are missing a trick here. You could HIRE the mic/box, run a sweep with their software, and then have that DSP run natively. This could also potentially address the major problem with Trinnov units which is latency - you can't run a live session smoothly with the Trinnov in the monitor path...run it natively on the other hand, and you could easily switch out the temporal adjustments whilst retaining the rooms EQ correction. Et Voila, no hardware re-routing in the monitor path required.

And honestly, IK Multimedia's box could do this for a fraction of the price if they shipped it with a calibrated spaced mic array, a'la Trinnov. This isn't rocket science.

Not even worth half the price for someone in a home studio.

Crazily overpriced unfortunately. It should be around 1-1.5k$ and that would be reasonable price for what it does. But until they don't have any competition they can rip off their customers. :/

Not worth the price, rew is absolutely epic and free ;)
