How to remove shifter knob on a 2007 - 2012 Nissan Sentra

So where does the O/D button connect to? Is there some kind of additional pins that connect at the bottom?

Is that all that needs to be done? No wire connections? My push button is broken on mine and I have the replacement on hand.

The shifter button on my Nissan Sentra broke. Is there a way to just replace that part? If so can you do a video on it?

Brian, if that small metal spring that holds the entire knob assembly together flies off and goes missing, will that mean trouble for the shift leveler or will it be okay?

You should provide more time on the video showing the piece while it's removed. I'm curious how the OD works and how the thump knob works. My thumb knob to engage the gear shifter isn't working, so I couldn't get out of park. So I drilled a hole at the top of the gear shift knob and out a screw in so it would push the gear shift rod down and allow me to shift our of gear.
