390.3 Kandi Introduces the K27

The Chinese manufacturer Kandi has introduced the K27, which is their first vehicle to hit the American market. It's tiny, has a range of 67 miles, and a top speed of 63 MPH. It's kind of cute, perfect for short drives. Let's face it, some people don't need gas guzzling tanks to roll around town. There's a niche for cars like this.

KANDI has since updated their website for the K27 to reflect a top speed of 68 MPH, at the expense of range, which is now 59 miles. But there are reports of being able to get more than 100 miles, provided you don;t touch "Sport Mode" which gives it a more peppy acceleration and top speed. The regular mode (selectable) (and likely the one I would use most) has a slower acceleration and a top speed of 50 MPH. My recommendation: Simply take the back roads and only take the highway when absolutely necessary. Also the 100 milers did not have the Air Conditioning or Heat blasting away. So, as they say, mileage may and will vary, depending on how much one wishes to drive such a vehicle around like a spoilt brat. lol
