Yeah I had my clutch and flywheel replaced on my M6 and it was over $6000... it started messing up after a wreck and insurance covered it! I had to have the slave cylinder and clutch position sensor replaced (since you have to pull transmission to replace slave, should just replace it if you can afford it.)

Very nice, by the time, if ever, i start to make videos about the m5 e60 you'll already have covered all the topics. Too bad that as an owner you will never see the fails comming before they happen.

Great information as usual mate. Would be great to get your view on what oil to use. Here in Perth west Australia where our winter temperatures range from 8-17 degrees on average and Sumer time 18-31 on average Celsius but can dip to below 3 in winter min and above 40 in summer. A lot of us use liquid Molly ractec 10w60 in all our M cars .cheers.

My dad had a 57 ( sept 2007-feb 2008 reg ) m5 back in 2011. It had only hit 40k yet he had problems with the electronic components the 8th cylinder blew out and came outligned with the other pistons which made the piston pattern very irregular so it basically turned into a 9cyl m5. His response to this was to clear all faults in the ecu turn off the engine light and the engine still sounded like a v10 so he sold it and the new owner called him next day to tell him it was a brilliant car. Dont think he knew about the engine😂

First! And from what I've heard it's best to stay with a 2008-2010 model

hey! love the channel! ive been through a bunch of your videos and maybe i missed it... but did you change the specs on your bottom end install to have a better lifespan on the rod bearings? and what oil are you using? a video on how you maintain yours would be great! :)

I have owned many older 3, 5, and 7 series BMWs and some well over 200k miles. Very disappointed in the quality of the newer models especially a MPOWER series. There is no excuse, it's a performance model and should be built at a higher standard. It shouldn't need con rods bearings after 40k miles. The E60 model (or anything in the 60s) has to be the worse made. Case in point, there has been a very clean looking 06 M5 with less than 80k miles for sale in my area for months. Still no takers. Maybe if they drop the price to half of what they want.

These are great cars. But with no warranty you need to be able to diy or know a good bmw Indy. If you are in the U.S. pay the extra for the 6MT. Go with the facelifted models.

6000$ to change a clutch?? wtf? bimmerzone 1500$ for flywheel + clutch kit, 6-7 hours labor 720-840$?? Why is a clutch 6000$USD??

if you buy a bmw buy a new one, dont buy old bmw's.. or you just have too much money and you want to spend it repairing it every month
