This is the GOAT, Stevie Wonder truly in his wheelhouse. When Stevie was in the pocket on songs like this, it's like eating a lush, perfectly ripe piece of fruit. The beauty of it is tangible/palpable. This time period of his career was absolutely transcendent and peerless.

yeah same ... i first heard this album when i was still just into punk, rock, indie ... so it was just nice music that was popular that was the 70's, much later, as you do, i came back to it, many times over, ended up buying those 70's discs of his .... he is up there with nina simone, billy holiday .... a cultural icon .... his passion, his spirituality, his funk, his smile, his open heartedness, his lyricism .... all make this lovely stew

Keep in mind that Stevie is from that Civil Rights and Vietnam era, late 60s and 70s, and some of his music might (do) reflect that time period too.
