It's the best game in the series. Best music, best original story, best scenario, best writing.

The mechanics are complex and yet they make sense.
The art direction is consistent and the species make sense.
You can actually tell what the fuck is happening onscreen.
The future mechanic is great.
There aren't too many characters, but there are many, and they are very different.
You can totally ignore roles and still play through the games, because roles are well balanced.
You actually make a visible difference in the world and it does make a difference if you are doing the side stories or not.
The gameplay keeps evolving.
The quest for Colony 6 actually asks for exploration and it's difficult.
The game is grindy and difficult. There is no magical bonus XP of easy as F big dinosaurs to farm and upgrade your role to level 10 in two fights.

The narcissistic characters receive no redemption, they are simply pathetic, vicious and wrong and they meet a fitting demise.
Unlike in Xenoblade 3 where narcissism is a huge story point for most Moebius as their motivation, and still they are met with sympathy.

Even returning characters still die, so it doesn't spoil the tragedy and love triangle going on in the side plot.

There are 8 arts per character.

The lore is intriguing and the reveal at the end is something you can accept and it's a good story. The world makes sense. There is no "oh she's the queen of that world, and SHE's the queen of that world, and they've made science to reboot the world" because it's bouncing.... Somehow.

Xeno 3 is terrible.
