I put Öhlins back and front, wider pegs, throw away the emission crap, new exhaust and a flat seat. Love the punch in low revs. Love the raw feel of the motor, keep it between 4-6000 and it will deliver quality-time 🙂

The best touring bike I've ever owned, it keeps your speed in check and is ok off road, above all an enormous range (best 320 miles) and a very comfortable riding position.
My longest day was Berlin to London, I kept seeing the same Dutch Superbikes coming past fast, then again two hours later and a second time at the Belgium border, the only difference was I hadn't stopped and never exceeded 80 mph.

I love my 660za. All you need in a bike. And there is always a mod or two you can do over the winter.

It is such a fun bike to ride once you get know it. At first I was put of by the lack of power, it really is not an issue.

I haave this extaact saame bike, same colour and its my second one ... I sold my first and regreted it instantly! ... I have had far too many bikes over 40 years of riding and thats from Blades, XJR's, ZZR1400s etc etc and none make me smaile as much as the Tenere (and that includes 3 Super 10's as well) ... brilliant bike thats just took me from the UK to the Alps and De''ll Assiata and Col De Finestrie (forgive spelling) and 3, 000 miles and never missed a beat ... viva the XT

That's a shame we don't get this one in North America. It would be a good competition to the KLR650. That being said, if you have the money, The Tenere 700 with the 2cyl CP2 engine is one of the best engine overall and in an adventure bike... It's an absolute monster.

Still owning it as a one bike for all.

This is my favorite bike but unfortunately isn't available in US or Canada, which really sucks! I will get one and enjoy it to the fullest. This is the only XT660 video that really covers all the aspects of the bike. Thanks.

just stubled upon your channel yesterday and really really like your style of videos. Clean and clear delivery so info and your opinion sticks, little cinematics, overall great value! You need more views indeed ;D

The tenere needs modifications to make it decent. The overall set up is good. Do yourself a favour and replace the suspension straight off the bat. OILINS SUSPENSION front & rear, you will be pleased, the handeling improvement is out of sight, Next high flow air filter, Barrett products 2 into 1 single exhaust system Get rid of the standard duel pipes, they weigh a ton, restrict the engine and they don't do as much for pollution as claimed. Congratulations you have now shead 10kgs, gained 10-13 hp, improved the handling out of sight and reduced fuel consumption. The double disc front brakes are excellent, the layout is excellent. Fit handle Bar rises 2"" for me. When you standard on the foot pegs the bar is positioned at the right height ergonomic so it's not a chore to hold and become fatigued.. Bark busters saves the break and clutch leavers. Radiator guard, sump guard bash plate. Now the Tenere is decent & I will kick the ass of more powerful bikes like the tenere 700 anyday of the week I have it all over them in the bush. She leaves Suzuki DR 650s for dead, my only real opponent is the KTM 690. Last thing or first? tyres, Dunlop 606s are the go, tube tyres they grip in dirt and improved handeling out of sight The Tenere 660 was cheap for a reason. It's a great starting platform

Wow, cool video and an honest review! Finally a romanian motorcycle video that's just the way it should, if it wasn't for the CJ plate I wouldn't knew :))!! I own a 2015 Tenere and was the only bike that fitted my criteria for a good priced adventure bike that would go to Mongolia an back, unfortunatly covid came and messed up my plans... Overall I love my Tenere!!

Have had my Ten for seven years now. I've loved it but just putting it up for sale now - time for something a bit more comfortable and road orientated. It's been fun though and I'll miss it - especially that huge range!

I have the XT660 R, with long range tank, upgraded suspension plus heaps of other stuff . My mate has the 660 Tenere.

I own one myself! Definitely love it, but one unfortunately it's getting to a point where is really difficult ( and expensive ) to get replacement parts for it. And the price in the second hand market doesn't really help!

Otherwise, absolutely killer machine. I really love mine, even with the engine being sloppy.

Bought one in Feb this year. My first big single and I love it! Sure it vibrates and is basic but I can maintain it myself easily. And with a few mods it sounds and runs great. Great vid👍
